The school was founded on 1956. In 2003, it was awarded the first batch of "Chaozhou Junior High School Teaching Quality School" and was promoted to "Fengxi District Class I School" in 2004. The course of half a century's rain or shine has created a good school-running tradition and profound cultural heritage in Fengzhong. The predecessors of the school made great efforts to govern, and the current leadership team made pioneering efforts, and wrote a song of praise for the success and glory of "Maple" people with wisdom and sweat. The school has successively won the titles of "Top Ten Civilized Campus in Chaozhou", "Safety Civilized School in Chaozhou", "Advanced Mass Sports Unit in Guangdong Province" and "Red Flag Youth League Committee in Chaozhou during the May 4th Movement". Recently, the school has 30 classes and nearly 2000 students, and has a team of teachers with excellent quality, reasonable structure, rigorous scholarship and rich teaching experience. Among nearly 100 full-time teachers, there are 20 senior teachers and 45 first-class teachers, ranking first in the region. Teachers published papers 173, of which 49 were published in national journals and won prizes. 42 teachers won prizes in observation classes at all levels. In 2005, Fengxi District Party Committee and District Management Committee attached great importance to it, investing120,000 yuan, and determined to build Fengxi Middle School into a first-class junior middle school and become a local "leading" middle school. The newly-built teaching building, comprehensive building, plastic ground basketball court and 200-meter circular plastic track and field have all been put into use. The school has 38 standard classrooms (all equipped with modern multimedia platforms), 64 computer rooms, 5 newly-built physics, chemistry and biology laboratories and a large number of teaching materials, as well as closed-circuit television, broadcasting system and campus network system. Advanced teaching facilities have given wings to the development of the school.

Schools attach importance to research-oriented schools and promote education through scientific research. In July, 2004, we successfully completed the scientific research work of key projects in Guangdong Province during the Tenth Five-Year Plan and passed the acceptance test. At present, many educational topics are being intensified. Chaozhou Fengxi Middle School signed an internship base agreement with our college (Hanshan Normal College) on 200 1, and has been strongly supporting Korean teachers' educational practice for many years. In recent four years, we have received 32 educational interns from our college 1 major.
