The Writing Background of Spring Facing the Sea
Facing the sea, spring blossoms is a lyric masterpiece of Haizi, written on 1989 1 month 13. Two months later, Haizi committed suicide by lying on the tracks near Shanhaiguan. Haizi, a poet who sings with his heart, has been eager to listen to the beautiful echo away from the hubbub. He stayed away from secular life all his life and even tried to get rid of the fetters and shackles of the secular world.

"From tomorrow on, be a happy person/feed horses, chop firewood and travel around the world" seems to announce that the poet has started a series of experiential actions facing the world, and will never let time pass in poverty, monotony and loneliness. "Traveling around the world" is the poet's ideal, that is, fully opening his mind to the world and fully enjoying it. "From tomorrow on, care about food and vegetables", "food and vegetables" is the representative of material secularity and the most basic material for survival. "Caring for food and vegetables" is a positive attitude towards life and a manifestation of loving life, from which we can feel the content of enjoying material happiness and relaxing contained in daily life itself. The poet made up his mind to "care about food and vegetables from tomorrow", which shows that in the past, the poet lacked happiness and was indifferent to life, so he was full of ambition and planned to rearrange his mood, rebuild his life and pursue happiness. I have a house, facing the sea, with spring flowers. The poet constructs his own happy home in imagination, imagining that he has a posture and space beyond life and overlooking the sea, where the poet can face the sea and gain carefree spiritual freedom. The aesthetic meaning of poetry is often produced by a word or sentence. The scene of "facing the sea and blooming in spring" shows the poet's rich imagination and creates a vibrant aesthetic situation. Here, we feel the integration of nature and human inner world, reaching a lofty realm.

From facing the sea and blooming in spring, we can experience a kind of life care beyond ourselves. Starting from tomorrow, I will write to every relative/tell them my happiness. When the poet has such a wonderful feeling of happiness, he can't wait to tell everyone about it, and he even wants to give happiness to everyone who has nothing to do with him. That happy lightning tells me/I will tell everyone. "That happiness" is like "lightning", which shows that happiness is sudden. The poet's strong feeling for happiness seems to show that this happiness will be fleeting and so illusory.

"Give every river and mountain a warm name" is actually a re-examination, re-feeling and re-discovery of the mountains and rivers that are commonplace in daily life and have long felt disgraceful. Stranger, I also wish you a bright future/everything will be fine, and all shall be well, jack shall have Jill/happiness in the world. In this happy world with bright spring, the poet's happiness overflows because of being too strong. He prayed for strangers with sincere wishes, secular and practical wishes. Caring for all life is the existence value of poetry. The lyric subject of this poem cares for human beings with a "beyond self" attitude and wishes everyone happiness. Compassion for others' human feelings makes the whole poem break through the usual emotional expression of lyric poetry and enter a new realm. "I just want to face the sea and spring blossoms." "I only wish" implies everything in front. It turns out that the poet is praying for others. He doesn't want to embrace the world at all, but sticks to his own space and posture. He just wants to face the sea, turn his back on the world alone and watch the flowers bloom and fall.

Therefore, whether in imagination or in reality, Haizi is not in secular happiness. Haizi, the last pastoral poet in the 1980s, lived in his own wheat field forever, watching the happiness of others.
