Peacock Flying Southeast was first seen in Xu Ling (507-582) of Chen State in the Southern Dynasties, Volume I, Poems for Wife. Miscellaneous Songs contains Yuefu poems, formerly known as Jiao Zhongqing's Wife. Now the first sentence of this poem is generally used as the title. Peacock Flying Southeast was originally a folk creation in Jian 'an period, which may be revised by later generations in the long-term circulation process.
The two protagonists in the story "Peacock Flying Southeast" have won the admiration of scholars of all ages for their constancy in love. The graveyard of the protagonist is in front of the grain depot in Xiaoshi Town, Huaining County, Anhui Province. After being transformed by later generations, it became a scenic spot for tourists to mourn for free. In order to shoot related TV, a "Peacock Southeast Flying Film and Television Base" was built in a small town, and this little-known town began to become famous overseas.
Through the love tragedy of Liu Lanzhi and Jiao Zhongqing, Peacock Flying Southeast accuses the evil of feudal ethics, paternalism and the concept of gate valve, and expresses the reasonable desire of young men and women for their independence in marriage and love. Liu Lanzhi, the heroine, is faithful to love and has an uncompromising struggle against feudal forces and feudal ethics, which makes her a rebellious female image in the history of literature and is praised by young men and women in later generations.
