Su Shi's "Poetry as Ci" is mainly reflected in the following two aspects;

I'm not particularly proficient in meter, so it's difficult to develop it. The ancients had many discussions. Li Qingzhao said that Su Ci is "an unreadable poem". The admirer says "a man who can't be bound by music".

Second, the theme (lyrical way, etc. )

Traditional ci takes Huajian ci as the positive source, and pays more attention to the feelings between songwriters and dancers, and between men and women. Su Shi, on the other hand, "pointed out the upward path" and wrote his ambition, especially his life ideal. For example, Nian Nujiao Nostalgia at Red Cliff and Jiangchengzi Mizhou Hunting. When the ancients said "poetic and picturesque", they meant poetry expressing ambition, not words expressing feelings. Su Shi expresses his ambition by using ci, that is, to break the bondage of the subject matter of ci.

In a word, Su Shi is a drastic reformer in the history of Ci, because he is brilliant and has opened the way for later generations to be bold and unconstrained.
