The "Dream" Journey of Philosophy

-"Philosophy and Life" Thoughts after class

Philosophers are wise and reasonable; A scholar knows and rules. Philosophy, as its name implies, vernacular Chinese refers to the knowledge of philosophy and truth. I think the word philosophy is not strange to all of us. We may have come into contact with some common sense and stories about philosophy, and have some superficial knowledge and understanding of philosophy, but we often don't delve into it.

For me, as a science student who is not a philosophy major, it is the first time to study philosophy systematically. Philosophy can strengthen people's point of view, thus making people have a deeper understanding of things, improving people's thinking and subjective consciousness, and making people mature. Looking at the world from a philosophical perspective can be said to be standing on the standpoint of transcending the world, reflecting on one's own ability from spiritual freedom and initiative, and looking at the world from another brand-new perspective.

In these weeks of philosophy classes, I deeply feel that philosophy is the sublimation of thought. As the saying goes, flowers cannot be without butterflies, mountains cannot be without springs, stones cannot be without moss, water cannot be without algae, trees cannot be without vines, and people cannot be without addiction. Everything in nature is accompanied by spirituality, which is truly interdependent and symmetrical, and man is the soul of all things. If people have no temperament and thoughts, it will be more regrettable than flowers without butterflies, mountains without springs and stones without moss, and then lose the value and significance of existence. People are limited, but thoughts are infinite. Philosophy is precisely to sublimate people's thoughts, push people forward and enlighten people.

People will encounter many things in their life, all of which are different and different. Philosophical thoughts can be seen everywhere. Learn philosophy, understand philosophy, and apply what you have learned.

Philosophy is neither empty nor weightless. The purpose of philosophy is clear. I have to say, I like many stories full of philosophy. I remember a story like this: there are two seas in Palestine, one is fresh water, and there are fish in it, which is called the Caspian Sea in Galilee. The Jordan River flowing down from the mountain makes this sea splash. It sings in the sun, people build houses around it, birds build nests among dense branches and leaves, and every living thing. Jordan flows southward into another sea. There is no exultation of fish, no leaves, no singing of birds, no laughter of children. Unless there is an emergency, travelers always choose other routes. The air on the water surface here is dignified, and no animal wants to drink here. The two seas are adjacent to each other. Why are they so different? Not because of the Jordan River, it injected the same fresh water, not because of the soil, nor because of neighboring countries. The difference is that the Caspian Sea in Galilee accepted the Jordan River, but it will never hold it. Without a drop of water flowing in, another drop of water will flow out, accept and pay together. The other sea is very clever. It collects every income miserly and never gives in to the impulse of generosity. It can't get in without a drop of water. The Caspian Sea in Galilee is charitable and full of life, while the other one never gives. This is the Dead Sea. There are two seas in Palestine and two kinds of people in the world. This story tells us that in life, we should tolerate others, release ourselves, don't haggle over every ounce, view people with water, put water first, and accept and pay together. Many bits and pieces in life are full of philosophy. By knowing and understanding the truth, we can actually taste many things and give spiritual help.

Philosophy, which has existed since ancient times, has been highly praised by many sages, such as Confucius. He was a great educator, thinker and politician in ancient China. He founded the Confucian School, and his profound thoughts left a far-reaching influence on later generations. Confucius abandoned the egoistic concept of striving for power and profit, traveled around the world with idealism and gave lectures everywhere, leaving a "benevolent heart" and a "golden mean" to future generations. This core value is the original creation of our nation, with distinct national and regional characteristics. Nowadays, people are more and more utilitarian, and they can do whatever it takes to achieve their own self-interest. It is even more important to publicize and inherit Confucius' values such as "benevolence", "valuing people" and "harmony". Confucius' philosophy is the core values of benevolence, harmony, honesty and moderation, and it is also priceless.

But for the philosophical doctrine of the mean, people will naturally think of "reconciliation, plastering, 50 boards each, half for each person, and 50-50 split". How to realize the golden mean, and what is its standard? In The Doctrine of the Mean, there is a saying that "harmony is achieved, the status of heaven is not good, and everything is nurtured". That is, everything has its place, its place, and its politics, so as to achieve the harmonious realm of "all things coexist without harming each other and parallel without contradicting each other". In fact, we can see that this realm can't be achieved at 100%, but it can be infinitely approached through hard work. The doctrine of the mean is actually for a win-win situation and harmony. The doctrine of the mean is actually a very clear realm of life and art of doing things, which fully embodies the basic characteristics of Confucian culture's pursuit of "harmony" effect. Harmonious society does not mean that people do nothing, but create an environment so that everyone can find their proper position and role, thus realizing their own value.

All these philosophical thoughts are the crystallization of our ancient sages and the lessons from time and history. We slowly taste and understand one by one. In fact, philosophy can bring us far more than that, it is enlightenment and spur. For us students, philosophy is also a paradise. We bring it from heaven to earth, combine our own life, apply what we have learned, understand philosophy, taste life, feel life, work hard and live happily.
