Beethoven: Piano SonataNo. 17

Piano sonata no 17 in d minor, op 3 1.2. The title of The Tempest comes from Schindler. Beethoven was asked to explain the song, and Beethoven replied that he could read Shakespeare's The Tempest. This work is full of strange, gloomy sense of urgency, ***3 actions:

1.D minor, the slowest adagio and allegro, sonata form. In this movement, the speed changes very frequently. The first theme includes Adagio, Allegro and Adagio between only six bars. In this whole movement, the slowest adagio is also unfolded in the form of recitation, and reappears after Allegro and Adagio, which makes the fantasy atmosphere more intense. Allegro gives people a stormy feeling.

2. Adagio in B flat major, sonata form. This is a movement sandwiched between two dark movements, and two beautiful themes are constantly interrupted, which greatly suppresses expression.

3. Allegro in D minor, sonata form. On the basis of the first theme, 16 partite developed like a whirlwind. Its theme is said to come from the association of galloping horseshoes, and its continuous gestation and development has great impetus.
