Virtual Reality technology (English name: virtual reality, abbreviated as VR), also known as virtual reality or mental environment technology, is a brand-new practical technology developed in the 20th century.
Virtual reality technology includes computer, electronic information and simulation technology. Its basic realization mode is mainly computer technology, which uses and synthesizes the latest development achievements of various high and new technologies such as three-dimensional graphics technology, multimedia technology, simulation technology, display technology and servo technology, and creates a realistic virtual world with three-dimensional visual, tactile, olfactory and other sensory experiences with the help of computers and other equipment, thus making people in the virtual world feel immersive.
With the continuous development of social productive forces and science and technology, there is an increasing demand for VR technology in all walks of life. VR technology has also made great progress and gradually become a new field of science and technology. ?
Virtual reality originated from 1965, a paper entitled "Ultimate Display" published by Ivan Sutherland in the United States at the IFIP conference. The paper puts forward that people can regard the display screen as "a window to watch the virtual world through it", thus creating a precedent for studying virtual reality.
