Dr. Zhiwu Lu, Associate Professor and Master Supervisor of School of Information, Renmin University of China. In July, 2005, he graduated from the Information Science Department of Peking University Institute of Mathematical Sciences, and obtained relevant certificates in science. 2011March graduated from the computer science department of the city university of hong kong with a doctorate. his main research interests are machine learning, pattern recognition, computer vision and multimedia content analysis. He presided over many scientific research projects such as National Natural Science Foundation and Beijing Natural Science Foundation. He has published more than 50 academic papers, including more than 20 papers in important international journals such as IJCV, PR, TIP, TSMC -B, TMM and important international conferences such as IJCAI, AAAI, ICCV, CVPR, ECCV and ACM-MM. Won the IBM Sur Award in 2065438+05, the 2nd place in ImageNet video detection in 2065438+05, the 4th place in repeated buyer prediction in IJCAI- 15, and the CGI Best Paper Award as IJCAI 20 15, IJCAI 20 13 and ICCV20/KLOC.
In this paper, Associate Professor Zhiwu Lu proposed a new weak supervised learning algorithm with anti-noise characteristics, and proved the sparsity of the optimal solution obtained by this algorithm in theory. The algorithm was successfully applied to the most difficult problem in computer vision-image semantic segmentation, thus creating a new research direction: weak supervised semantic segmentation with noise.
This research direction is devoted to automatically extracting regulatory information from noisy social tags, and essentially solving the problem of image semantic segmentation. The achievements of this research direction are of fundamental value to computer vision, and can be widely used to solve hot issues such as video surveillance, human-computer interaction and automatic driving.
PAMI, the highest periodical in the field of artificial intelligence, is named IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence with an impact factor of 5.78 1, which belongs to China Academy of Sciences 1 periodical and is a class A periodical recommended by China Computer Federation. PAMI is recognized as a journal that is very difficult to publish, and the top machine learning scholars in Chinese mainland can only publish a few papers in this journal in the past three years.
