How to automatically generate wps directory
Set the title style, set the outline level, insert the table of contents and adjust the table of contents.

1. Set the title style: first select the first-level title, then select "Style: Title 1" in the start tab, and so on. For example, the title 1 corresponds to the first-level title, the title 2 corresponds to the second-level title, and so on.

2. Set the outline level: select the navigation pane in the view menu, so that you can clearly see the level and position of the title. Select each title, and then adjust the outline level in the paragraph settings to ensure that each title is correctly classified into the corresponding level.

3. Insert the table of contents: put the cursor at the beginning of the article and click the table of contents option in the Reference menu. WPS provides a variety of directory styles, which can be selected as needed. If you need to include more detailed title levels, such as second-level and third-level titles, you can select "Custom Directory" and adjust parameters such as preface and display level as needed.

4. Adjust the table of contents: After generating the table of contents, you can adjust the format and position of the table of contents according to your needs, such as adjusting the font size of titles and the spacing between paragraphs.
