The northern suburb, called "Bai Jiao" in ancient times, means "hundreds of rivers crisscross, with dense water networks". It is a town under the jurisdiction of Shunde District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province, located in the northeast of Shunde District, Foshan City, at the intersection of Guangzhou City, Foshan New City and Shunde City.

Beijiao Town belonged to Nanhai County before it was founded in Shunde. 1959 in may, beijiao commune held its first party congress, and in the same month, beijiao people's commune was established. From then on, Beijiao began to appear as an independent administrative system on the territory of Shunde.
