Changsha Institute of Social Work is located in Changsha City, Hunan Province. Its predecessor was changsha civil administration School of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, which was founded in 1984.
1999 changed its name to Changsha Institute of Social Work, which is an ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Hunan Provincial People's Government and directly under the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. It is one of the first batch of (28) national demonstration higher vocational colleges, the first batch of national modern apprenticeship pilot units, the second batch of national demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, and the first batch of social work professional training bases of the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
