Application of Multimedia in Stage Design In recent years, this new art form based on art and science has developed rapidly with the efforts of many professionals and people who love it. It attracts people with its unpredictable artistic charm and the freshness of modern science. The comprehensive art of applying multimedia technology to stage background design came into being. The combination of the two accords with nature, and at the same time has a sufficient foundation for the development of the times. It involves many aspects of art design and is a comprehensive design concept. The development of multimedia stage background design in China is less than 10 years, but it represents the comprehensive development trend of art design in the future. Multimedia technology has penetrated into all aspects of stage design. First, the performance characteristics of stage multimedia art 1. Provide more expressive force for stage performance. Multimedia puts artistic creation on the stage and shows the process of artistic creation to the audience. It would be too monotonous if only the finished works of art were shown in the program. Taking calligraphy as an example, if the stage multimedia background technology is added, the calligraphy works will be presented to the audience when they are created. Compared with static finished products, dynamic creative brushwork can make the audience feel the artistic atmosphere better. This is the product of the combination of traditional art, general digital art and visual art, and the dynamic background displayed by multimedia background is more expressive than the traditional stage background. In the real plot background, dynamic background can make the scene more realistic. For example, the background often used in multimedia background is much more vivid than the immovable prop "grass" in the physical background. Dynamic background can play a more important role in rendering the rhythm and atmosphere of the whole program when rendering the atmosphere background. For example, in the acrobatic performance Fancy Basketball in the Spring Festival Evening of 2008, the background flashed by silhouettes of dynamic characters with different postures, which broke through the previous performance forms of acrobatic festivals and made the whole program lively and more contemporary. 2. The film language can easily realize the long-span transformation of time by using the unique nonlinear narrative ability of multimedia. Nowadays, putting nonlinear narrative on the stage can make the transition of stage performance time more directly conveyed to the audience. For example, flashback or interpolation narrative methods can easily and intuitively tell the audience the change of time as long as the stage background changes. Similarly, nonlinear narration can also make the screenwriter or director more daring to create and grasp the time. The multimedia background of the stage makes the film montage move to the stage and realizes the flexible transformation of the stage space. For example, the segmentation method-skill transition (fade in and out, line, flick, freeze-frame, digital special effects) and coherent transition (similar transition, logical transition, figurative transition, transitional transition) can be applied to the stage background transition after the emergence of stage multimedia technology, making the stage scene change natural, reasonable and coherent. At the same time, the stage multimedia background can "move" more forms of scenes to the stage, realize the true reproduction of virtual space and break the space limitation of traditional stage background. Such as ocean, space, desert, grassland, Gobi and so on. In the traditional stage background design, none of these backgrounds can be "moved" to the stage, but the stage multimedia technology turns these "impossible" into "possible", realizing the settings that are difficult to realize in the traditional stage background. For example, in the Spring Festival Evening of 2008, the essay "Military Sister-in-law Going to the Island" successfully created the environmental background of the sea, which made the audience really feel the eagerness of military sister-in-law to look at the island and miss her husband. The rough sea background, the sound effect of roaring waves hitting rocks and the vivid performance of actors are perfectly integrated, and the overall effect is more real and infectious. 3. Reduce the production cost. The traditional stage background layout basically adopts the way of solid decoration, so once the background needs to be replaced, it needs to be closed, which makes the program background design dull and monotonous and cannot be replaced in time. The stage multimedia background solved this problem, and even replaced it in a few minutes and seconds. Without the "curtain call" link, the program was more coherent and gave the audience a sense of unity. Moreover, through digital compression, multimedia video and audio data can be stored for a long time, saving space, being easy to save and not easy to be damaged. At the same time, images and files can be quickly transmitted to all directions through network communication. In the future, once people need a certain content, they can call it up through the network, read it on the network terminal, and print it out from the terminal printer when they are satisfied. Second, the application of multimedia technology in stage design. The development of multimedia art depends on the influence of technical fields in different stages to some extent. With the development of modern science and technology, more and more electronic and physical technologies have been applied to multimedia stage design, which has injected new vitality into stage design. In recent years, with the rapid development of L E D display technology, it has been widely used in stage design with the advantages of high brightness, low voltage, low power consumption, long life and easy splicing. High brightness can make the stage more colorful, easy to combine and splice, and the screen can be decorated in various forms as needed, which can be used as a background screen or as a stage prop at will, with strong plasticity. Low energy consumption, stable performance and long service life, which can ensure the safe use of the stage. Its birth has had a far-reaching impact on decorative arts and other art forms. Based on its obvious advantages, high-performance full-color L E D screen has become the darling of main stage design as soon as it appears, and is widely used in various stage designs. From small stage plays to large-scale cultural performances, its figure is always so distinct. For example, during the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games, the L E D lights placed around the percussion surface cooperated with the background lights to create the "countdown" effect of the opening ceremony. There are also the soaring "Olympic rings" signs, as well as the scrolls on the stage of the performance center, all made of LED tubes. 2. The application of sound and photoelectricity The development of stage and stage acoustics coexist. With a series of changes in the stage, the use of stage acoustics has also incorporated high-tech elements. The application of multimedia technology in stage acoustics has greatly increased the depth of the stage and enriched the level of stage acoustics. Stage acoustics has also become an important manifestation of stage multimedia technology. Eight channels can create a three-dimensional sound field. The audience sitting below can clearly hear the rain flowing from left to right from the tin rain mouth along the eaves, the wind blowing from the treetops on the left, and the birds singing in front of the right. In the past, these feelings were impossible to realize, but now, through multi-channel control, the audience can create the ultimate live audio-visual effect. At the same time, stage lighting is an important part of the performance space, which is an all-round lighting design for the characters' hearts and specific scenes according to the development of the plot. For example, the famous Broadway drama Cat uses modern techniques such as sound, light and electricity to create fantastic dance effects, and its strong audio-visual impact makes the audience really immersed in the cat world. For example, big shoes falling from the sky, giant sewers, and the promenade leading to heaven by cats, these large props create jaw-dropping visual effects under full electronic control. 3. Interaction expands the stage space. Virtual interactive system combines multimedia technology, network technology and digital image technology, and its core technology is mixed reality, which is a technology that generates images through computers and provides viewers with a perceptual virtual objective world. This technology advances the post-production time of the mixture of virtual reality and reality, which makes people feel that the real environment and virtual objects are in the same time and space. Real-time mixed reality technology is a cutting-edge new technology, and the stage multimedia art we study must be real-time mixed. This is conducive to the integration of the virtual world and the real world. Let people feel what exists in the virtual space in the real world, and this immersive feeling gives the audience a stronger sensory experience. In recent years, the drama industry has been trying to play multimedia dramas. In the new works, images and interactive media technology are widely used as narrative expression means, and 248 images and performances are intertwined. Actors can talk and even dance with virtual characters made by computers on the stage, creating more diverse artistic experiences for the audience. For example, China's musical Butterfly combines advanced mixed reality technology and animation technology. Adding holographic image technology instead of actors and large-screen animation in the play will be a completely new holographic virtual statue. No matter from which angle, the effect will get twice the result with half the effort, which makes people full of praise. Third, the future development direction of stage multimedia art 1. Broader stage space At present, the application of multimedia technology on the stage is only an attempt on the stage background. Multimedia technology can also be used in other aspects of stage performance. For example, the scene of the stage background is extended to the audience, so that the audience has an immersive feeling. We imagine whether we can put the audience in a square background, let the multimedia background surround the audience present, and cooperate with the stage effects such as lighting and live smoke to create a more illusory and virtual audience in the stage space, instead of being in the stage. For example, Melanie's song program "A Chinese Odyssey" in the 2007 annual finals of the Avenue of Stars. Its background is green bamboo forests scattered on three screens, and with dim green lights, it is as illusory as a fairyland. But why not integrate the audience into this moving scene? If a large display screen is placed around the audience to show the scene of bamboo forest, will the realistic effect impress the audience more? 2. Strengthening stage foresight Multimedia technology should be able to simulate the whole stage performance, that is, the director can simulate the whole performance, including scenes, lighting, special effects, actors' performances, etc. Before the official performance (such as three-dimensional simulation effect, more realistic). The performance effect of multimedia simulation performance has a strong preview, which can see the general effect of the stage before the actors enter the rehearsal and provide reference for arranging the actors' positions. At the same time, the director only needs to master the whole performance time in the simulated multimedia images to reduce the consumption of manpower, material resources and financial resources brought by repeated rehearsals. There were five rehearsals before the Spring Festival Evening broadcast in 2008, and the director was still adjusting the time during the last two rehearsals. Five rehearsals cost manpower and material resources, which is unimaginable. Assuming that multimedia technology is applied to stage performance simulation, then the director can better grasp the whole performance. Summarize that multimedia art has injected new vitality into stage design and fundamentally changed the form of stage design. From its emergence to today's wide application, its advantages show us that multimedia technology will become an indispensable backbone in future stage design. Its superiority allows us to see the diversification of future stage design, which can be said to give designers more design space to show the charm of the stage. Looking at it from another angle, it also increases the technical difficulty and ability requirements of designers. Designers should not only master the traditional stage scenery design, but also study the application and performance of multimedia technology. Similarly, in the research and development of emerging multimedia technology, we are still in the primary stage, and we need continuous efforts and research if we want multimedia technology to go further on the stage. From the application of stage background to other fields, multimedia technology is integrated into all aspects of the stage. ∷ References [1] Li Xingguo, editor-in-chief: Film and Television Art and High-tech Application, Communication University of China Press, 2005.7 [2] Chen Ling, Introduction to New Media Art, Tsinghua University Press, 2007.2 [3] Xu Peng and other editors, On New Media Art, Higher Education Press, 2006.
