Based on the rich plant resources in western Hunan, we are committed to the frontier research of phytochemistry and the protection and utilization of characteristic resource plants, and have formed our own unique research characteristics in the extraction, separation and analysis of biochemical active components of plants and the protection and utilization of characteristic resource plants. We have studied the extraction of bioactive substances from Eucommia ulmoides, Actinidia chinensis, Huperzia serrata, rattan tea, Polygonum cuspidatum, Zanthoxylum bungeanum and bamboo leaves, and some achievements have been transformed and industrialized.

While paying attention to the application research of plant extracts, we have continuously strengthened the in-depth study of basic theories, and successively carried out research on the preparation methods and adsorption properties of molecularly imprinted polymers. Molecular imprinting technology has been used in chromatographic analysis, solid-phase (micro) extraction, enrichment, separation and analysis of trace alkaloids in Cephalotaxus.

In recent years, he has presided over eight research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation Project, the Outstanding Youth Project of Hunan Provincial Department of Education, the key project of Hunan Provincial Department of Education, the local cooperation project of the national public study abroad fund, the horizontal cooperation project between schools and enterprises, and the doctoral research funding project of Jishou University.
