He participated in the research work of "Separation and structural determination of higher molecular weight oligosaccharides in whitefly honeydew", a sub-project of the national research action plan of the US Department of Agriculture, and named bemisiose, bemisitetose, diglucomelitose and other oligosaccharides for the first time in the world. Related papers and research results are widely cited by international peers. After returning to China, he has presided over and undertaken a number of research projects issued by the National Natural Science Foundation, the Ministry of Education, the Science and Technology Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Education Department. Among them, the "Pilot Study on the Production of Sucrose Oligosaccharides by Immobilized Enzymes" was appraised by experts organized by Guangxi Science and Technology Department, and it was considered that the achievement reached the international advanced level, and the industrial scale production had been successfully realized, and it was rated as one of the "1981-2001China Food Industry Top 20 Scientific and Technological Progress Achievements" selected by China Food Industry Association. The project "Study on Active Polysaccharides in Natural Products" cooperated with Shanghai Institute of Pharmacology of China Academy of Sciences won the second prize of Natural Science Award of China Academy of Sciences in 2000 and the third prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award respectively.
