This paper summarizes the experience of neurobiology teaching in basic medical specialty in recent years. It aims to further improve the teaching effect.

Paper Keywords: basic medical specialty; Neurobiology; Teaching effect

Neurobiology is an interdisciplinary subject, involving anatomy, physiology, pathology, psychology and so on. Focusing on the mystery of the human brain, it developed rapidly in the late 20th century and has become one of the disciplines leading the revolution of contemporary life science. China listed "brain science and cognitive science" as one of the key development projects in the Outline of the National Medium and Long-term Science and Technology Development Plan (2006-2020). In 20 13, the United States announced the brain research plan to promote innovation in neuroscience and technology, referred to as "brain plan", and neuroscience entered an unprecedented period of rapid development.

The teaching of neurobiology in Capital Medical University started at 1997, and it is mainly aimed at seven-year and five-year clinical medical undergraduates. In 2007, Capital Medical University opened the major of basic medicine, and neurobiology is a compulsory course for students of this major. This paper summarizes the experience of neurobiology teaching in basic medical specialty in recent years, which is introduced as follows.

1. Selected course content

The orientation of basic medical specialty in our school is to cultivate senior professionals with the ability to engage in basic medical education and scientific research. Because the training objectives of this major are different from those of clinical medicine, the course content needs to be adjusted accordingly. In the teaching content, we should choose the latest published textbooks covering the latest research results to ensure that students majoring in basic medicine can receive the latest knowledge and information. The textbook used by students majoring in basic medicine in our school is the third edition (

The discipline of neurobiology in our school belongs to the national key discipline, and its research fields involve neurodegenerative diseases, depression, stroke, nerve injury and repair. In view of the fact that students majoring in basic medicine will mainly engage in scientific research in the future, attention should be paid to the description of research methods in teaching. If depression is involved in the teaching of "mental system diseases", it is necessary to introduce the preparation methods and evaluation criteria of animal models of depression to students, so that students can have a preliminary understanding of the research methods of depression and contribute to the future research of mental diseases; Similarly, when teaching the chapter "Regulation Mechanism of Exercise", it involves a common neurodegenerative disease-Parkinson's disease, and teachers need to explain to students the preparation and research methods of the animal model of the disease. Through the above teaching, students can subtly master the research methods of neuroscience and lay the foundation for future research work.

2. Cultivate students' scientific research thinking

Neurobiology is a very practical subject. In teaching, teachers should systematically explain the classic experiments that promote the development of neurobiology, and review in detail the knowledge background and technical level of that year, as well as how scientists found scientific problems under the conditions at that time. What research methods and technical means are used to solve these scientific problems? This will help to stimulate students' interest in scientific research, cultivate students' ability to find and solve problems, and enable them to initially form scientific research thinking.

Neurobiology is a subject closely related to experiments. Cultivating students' practical ability, ability to analyze and solve problems is an important part of cultivating scientific research thinking of basic medical specialty. Traditional experimental teaching completely ignores the cultivation of students' scientific research and innovation ability. Therefore, our college offers experimental neuroscience courses for students majoring in basic medicine, and arranges l2 class hours for students to fully participate in the scientific experiments of various research groups in our college, freely choose small topics, and each person completes a small experiment. Through the above methods, students' understanding of neuroscience research methods is strengthened, and their scientific research thinking ability and practical ability are improved.

3. Choose teaching methods

The traditional classroom teaching method is that a teacher teaches a certain subject face to face to many students according to the teaching plan and time specified in advance, which is not conducive to giving full play to the initiative and consciousness of students and affecting the teaching effect.

Teaching is a problem-oriented teaching method. PBL medical teaching is based on problems, with medical students as the main body, in the form of group discussion, with the participation of instructors, around the diagnosis and treatment of a medical topic or specific cases. From 65438 to 0969, American neurologist Barros introduced PBL teaching method into the field of medical education for the first time at McMaster University in Canada. PBL teaching method has gradually attracted the attention of all countries, and has become the focus of medical education reform in China.

Application of PBL teaching method in neurobiology teaching of basic medical specialty. For example, when teaching Parkinson's disease, the concept is taught by conventional methods, and the pathogenesis and treatment are taught by PBL teaching method. First, guide students to inquire about the relevant information about Parkinson's disease, and arrange students to summarize the epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical symptoms and treatment methods of Parkinson's disease, and then discuss in groups. Finally, the teacher summarized and refined. By analyzing the students' final exam results in recent years, the author finds that PBL teaching method has greatly improved the classroom teaching effect and students' exam results.

4. Pay attention to bilingual teaching

Adopting standardized bilingual teaching in neurobiology teaching for basic medical students can lay a solid foundation for specialized foreign languages. The survey shows that most students and teachers believe that bilingual teaching is helpful to improve their professional English ability and overall foreign language level. Because students majoring in basic medicine are mainly engaged in teaching and scientific research in the future, they need good foreign language skills to consult documents and participate in international exchanges, and bilingual teaching has become the general trend.

Neurobiology involves a lot of subject knowledge and its content is complex. Therefore, bilingual teaching of neurobiology is a great challenge for both teachers and students. Teachers should not only master a large number of professional vocabulary, but also pronounce it correctly. Only in this way can the accuracy of bilingual teaching be guaranteed. Bilingual teaching is not achieved overnight, but step by step. In teaching, the proportion of Chinese and English teaching should be appropriate. At the beginning of teaching, students can learn professional English for key nouns first, and then learn common nouns, so that students can gradually adapt to bilingual teaching. For the key content, explain in English and summarize in Chinese to strengthen students' memory and consolidate their knowledge.

5. Improve the quality of courseware making.

Multimedia courseware is an important part of modern educational technology, which can make abstract and difficult medical knowledge intuitive and vivid. For students majoring in basic medicine, English should be added after new concepts and nouns in courseware, so as to increase students' professional English vocabulary through comparison between Chinese and English. Courseware text should be as concise as possible to avoid boring and empty teaching content. In the choice of films, we should follow the principles of intuitive understanding and popular animation, and strive to simplify complex problems, visualize abstract problems, decompose overall problems and make static knowledge dynamic. It is necessary to insert ffj-related videos into the courseware to show the characteristics of words, pictures, sounds and images, and present the teaching content at multiple levels and angles. When explaining synaptic transmission, animation can be used to demonstrate the process of releasing neurotransmitters from synaptic membranes, thus causing postsynaptic potentials and making boring knowledge lively and interesting; When explaining Parkinson's disease, play the behaviors of Parkinson's patients and Parkinson's animal model rats through videos to let students have an intuitive understanding of the disease; When explaining the distribution map of the ventricles of the central nervous system of the brain, multimedia courseware can be used to show pictures of different sections of the brain and three-dimensional brain rotation maps, so as to visualize abstract and difficult knowledge and facilitate students to understand and master it.

6. Conclusion

At present, the neurobiology teaching of basic medical specialty in our school has just started, the teaching content needs to be further standardized, the teaching difficulties need to be further unified, and it needs to be explored slowly in practice. Strengthening the teaching research of neurobiology in basic medical specialty is not only conducive to improving the teaching effect, but also helpful to improve the scientific research quality of students, thus enhancing the competitiveness of neurobiology in our school.
