My name is xxx. I am xx years old and come from xx. Now he is a graduate student majoring in microelectronics in Southeast University. In the first year of research, I mainly studied professional courses, and at the same time studied with my seniors and was responsible for the basic work of drawing PCB and welding; After the first year of research, I began to enter the laboratory in the summer vacation, and officially started a new learning mode combining engineering practice and learning.
After entering the laboratory, I was lucky enough to join the xx project with several students in the laboratory, responsible for the design of storage system. First, familiarize yourself with the use process of QUARTUS ii development tools with the project team members. At the same time, I am familiar with the working principle of SSRAM, draw the circuit board of SSRAM memory module, and weld and test it. Then, the SSRAM controller is programmed according to its working sequence, and the actual test is carried out by using the logic analyzer to grab the signal. The speed can run to 80M in the read-write mode. Through this practice, I have mastered the general process of hardware development and got a deeper understanding of verilog syntax. Then, according to the change of demand, the project uses SDRAM as the storage medium, because SDRAM has large capacity and low price. Then, after carefully understanding the working principle of SDRAM, due to the complicated working sequence of SDRAM, in order to save development time, Altera official IP is directly used and its parameters are simply set.
But we don't know whether the SDRAM data stream of the controller is continuous or discontinuous. In order to make it clear, first make a general analysis of the whole code after instantiation (in fact, I didn't even know this at first because I was not familiar with the tools). When I read the code, I found that there were many bus signals, which was confusing at first glance. I can only guess literally and study AXI bus carefully on the Internet. After a general understanding of the code, I want to actually grab the key signal test and see its waveform diagram, but these bus signals can not be drawn for observation. I can only boldly try to add SOPC again by using official website's IP core, mainly to match the signal type according to my understanding of bus signals and functions, which I did at that time. It plays a great role in customizing IP for yourself and other members of the project in the later stage. Later, I learned Signal tap, simulated it with Modelsim, and shared my experience with my team members.
While all the basic work is going on, I am also constantly exploring the data storage architecture in data acquisition, and finally put forward a FIFO storage scheme, and use DMA to move data to improve the speed of data movement. Through the experience of this project, I have a deeper understanding of digital automation design, and I am more skilled in using Quartus development tools, and I can design IP based on AXI bus.
