The research direction is urban and regional planning, and the research focus is on the development of urban central area and large-scale urban design.
In the past five years, he has taught five undergraduate main courses and specialized courses (ranging from 2 to 5 classes), and the postgraduate course 1 won the first place in teaching 12 and other awards. He presided over 3 national natural science foundation projects, 4 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects and 5 municipal projects. He has published and co-published 7 monographs, published 18 papers in Scientific China (SCI included in SCI), Urban Planning, Journal of Architecture and China Gardens, and published nearly 40 papers in other core journals, and was responsible for or mainly participated in the regional planning of the Yangtze River Delta, the planning research of Guangzhou central system, the urban planning of the east coast of Hangzhou West Lake, and the urban planning of Hangzhou West Lake.
On May 10, the research team of Professor Yang from the Urban Planning Department of the School of Architecture of Southeast University was entrusted by the Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Land and Planning to undertake the project of "Wuhan Central City System Planning". This is the second time that the team has undertaken the central system planning of an important central city after undertaking the municipal central system planning of Guangzhou in 2008.
