2. It is necessary for both sides of the strait to exert their political wisdom and actively face the future.
While cross-strait relations are facing rare opportunities for development, there are also problems left over from history and new problems that will inevitably be encountered in the future. The two sides should actively seize and make good use of opportunities, treat and resolve differences calmly and pragmatically, and safeguard and promote the development of cross-strait relations. The ancients said that those who do not seek the overall situation are not enough to seek a domain. For both sides of the strait, seeking the overall situation means focusing on the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation and the overall situation of the peaceful development of cross-strait relations. As long as we truly uphold and conscientiously implement the concept of "building mutual trust, shelving disputes, seeking common ground while reserving differences and creating a win-win situation", the road to peaceful development of cross-strait relations will surely become wider and wider.
