Climate warming has become one of the most concerned environmental problems of contemporary human beings. The increase of carbon dioxide content in the air and the carbon dioxide emitted by industry in life are related to global warming. Judging from the current social situation, developing low-carbon economy is the general trend.

Based on the current situation of low-carbon economy development in China and the characteristics of economic development in Henan Province, this paper analyzes the development situation of low-carbon economy at home and abroad, and analyzes the concept of "low-carbon economy" in detail, expounds the necessity and objective inevitability of developing low-carbon economy in Henan Province, and puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions for developing low-carbon economy in Henan Province.

This paper is divided into the following six parts:

The introduction mainly describes the background and research significance of the development of low-carbon economy, expounds the reasons for the development of low-carbon economy in Henan Province, summarizes the research status of low-carbon economy development at home and abroad, and makes an overall self-evaluation of the research contents and methods of this paper. The first chapter expounds the concept and connotation of the term "low-carbon economy", and makes a detailed analysis of the corresponding theoretical basis, including environmental Kuznets theory, sustainable development theory, decoupling development theory and ecological theory, which lays a theoretical foundation for the following research. The second chapter analyzes the practical significance of the development of low-carbon economy and tells that the development and implementation of low-carbon economy is a very important step for the economic development of Henan Province. The third chapter carefully analyzes the current situation of low-carbon economy development in Henan Province, and calculates and analyzes carbon emissions and its influencing factors from the energy structure and energy consumption of the province, so as to provide theoretical basis for development countermeasures. The fourth chapter, according to the current situation of low-carbon economy development in Henan Province, compares it with the advanced level at home and abroad, finds out its own gap, carefully analyzes the reasons, and draws lessons for progress.
