Analysis of Common Faults in Automobile Air Conditioning System

Common air conditioning system failures can be roughly divided into four categories, namely: noise, insufficient refrigeration, incorrect air outlet direction, and peculiar smell. The following respectively explain these phenomena and reasons for readers.

(1) noise

Generally speaking, it refers to some abnormal sounds caused by the relative movement of parts when using air conditioning.

1. Sound of compressor equipment-When using cold air, under normal circumstances, the compressor will only produce a "stuck" sound at the moment when its electromagnetic clutch is engaged or disengaged, and the operation should be extremely quiet. If there is a "rumbling, rumbling" sound during operation, it means that the compressor may be worn due to the lack of refrigerant oil in the pipeline.

Solution-In general, only a new compressor can be replaced.

2. Belt noise-Usually, the belt driving the compressor is not tight enough, and it slips after the compressor is loaded, resulting in a sharp whine.

Solution-It can be improved by tightening or replacing the new drive belt.

3. Fan noise-there are two kinds of fans here: one refers to the auxiliary fan (small fan) behind the water tank to help cool the refrigerant; The other refers to a blower that transports cold air. If their motor bearings are worn, the noise will increase with the increase of speed.

Solution-Replace the fan or lubricate the blower bearing.

4. Wind direction and hot water valve-when you operate the panel key to adjust the temperature, the hot water valve that controls the engine cooling water to flow into the heat exchanger will act; When you adjust the position of the air outlet angle, the copy valve that controls the wind direction will act. These parts may make some noise when moving. If your air conditioning system belongs to electronic constant temperature control type, then this noise may also appear when the engine is not started, which is a common abnormal sound in the center console.

Treatment-if it is not serious, leave it alone; Otherwise, you can go to 4S, request to connect a computer, and reinitialize and set the voltage value of the related motor with 505 1 or 5052 software.

Insufficient refrigeration

1. Insufficient refrigerant-refrigerant is a medium that absorbs heat. If the refrigerant in the pipeline is not filled for a long time, the pipeline leaks, air is mixed, and the amount of refrigerant in the system is insufficient, which will lead to insufficient refrigeration. When using cold air, you can check the amount of refrigerant in the pipeline from the transparent window on the storage tank. If you see many bubbles in the window, it means that the amount of refrigerant is not enough. In addition, if the refrigerant is overfilled, it will lead to insufficient refrigeration and increase the possibility of pipeline leakage.

Solution-supplement or vacuum leak detection, refill the refrigerant with standard pressure (Bora is R 134a) and compressor oil after maintenance.

2. The compressor does not work-the working cycle of the refrigerant in the pipeline must rely on the transmission of the compressor. If the compressors can't work together due to abnormal refrigerant pressure, line fault, damaged temperature sensor or burned electromagnetic clutch of the compressor, the refrigeration will be insufficient.

Solution-Replace the temperature sensor or electromagnetic clutch.

3. Poor heat dissipation of the condenser-the refrigerant is compressed by the compressor into high-temperature and high-pressure gas, cooled by the condenser and decompressed by the expansion valve, and finally reaches the evaporator to absorb the heat of the carriage and evaporate. If the cooling effect of the condenser (located in front of the water tank) is not good, such as the auxiliary fan is not running and the condenser radiator is blocked by dirt, it will cause poor liquefaction of the medium and reduce the refrigeration capacity.

How to avoid it-every time you wash the car, flush the radiator with high-pressure water from the front grille.

If the fan does not turn, replace the small fan; If necessary, have the condenser cleaned by professionals.

4. The refrigerant pipeline is blocked-this situation most often occurs on the liquid storage tank or expansion valve.

Treatment method-cleaning the pipeline, vacuumizing the refrigerant again, and replacing the new product.

5. The air output is too small-many problems of insufficient cooling are due to the blockage of the air filter, which leads to the small air output at the air outlet and makes the driver feel that the cooling is not enough. Nowadays, more and more advanced imported cars are equipped with activated carbon micro-filters, which can really block the dust and odor outside the car, but this kind of equipment is quickly blocked in highly polluted areas. In addition, when turning on the air conditioner, many drivers always like to turn the coolness to the coldest, turn the wind speed to the maximum, and then turn down the air volume when it is too cold or too windy, and rarely turn it down again.

The temperature is regulated by the degree of cooling, so the temperature is only controlled by the amount of air. This will lead to the situation that the exit is extremely cold and the car is not cold, which is easy to cause the frost and fog blown out of the air outlet to freeze the evaporator.

Solution-Replace the air conditioner pollen filter. In general, the temperature can be set at 2 1 degree, and the operation can be carried out in AOTU mode.

6. Mixing with heating-Because the air conditioning system of modern cars combines cold air with heating, if too much heating is mixed with cold air when cold air is needed, it will cause insufficient cooling. This situation can be judged from two phenomena: first, when the car is cold, the air conditioner is hotter than when it is cold; Second, the refrigerant low-pressure pipe in the engine room (usually thick in diameter and covered with heat insulation material) is extremely cold, but the cold air is not cold.

Solution-Check and replace the duplicate motor of the warm air distribution pipe; Check and eliminate computer control faults.

(3) The wind direction is wrong

The most common situation is unilateral wind, when climbing a mountain, there is no wind, and fog removal is not good. Usually, the wind direction valve is stuck or the pipeline of the vacuum tank (used to store engine vacuum to drive the wind direction valve) leaks. This kind of problem needs a lot of materials and time.

(4) Smell

It often rains or after the air conditioner is idle for a period of time, the air conditioner smells when it is turned on, because the system is damp and moldy.

Solution-turn on the air conditioner when the car is hot, and it is easy to blow the hottest and strongest hot air in all directions for 3 ~ 5 minutes.
