The experimental results show that these mice who are often hungry live twice as long as those who are often full.

Why is this happening? How can a good nutritional status lead to a short life span? Isn't this the American who overthrew the nutrition supremacy he once thought? When she got back, she told me that people would say that she was a different person. The patient really understood that big fish and big meat are not necessarily good for people's health. Some people may still have questions, and they don't feel uncomfortable when they eat at the appointed time. How does the feeling in the stomach feel very sensitive after taking medicine and conditioning? Is this a good thing or a bad thing? What I want to tell you is that you have been eating at a certain point for a long time without relying on your supervisor's feeling (hunger). You have damaged the sensory nerve in your stomach, or you are numb, just like people who go to public toilets with poor conditions. Myth: The more you sleep, the faster you die.

People who sleep only six or seven hours a day have a much lower mortality rate than those who sleep more than eight hours or less than four hours a day. The purpose of this study, named "Cancer Prevention Study II", is to find out the role of different environmental factors and living habits in the process of cancer, so information such as diet, tobacco and alcohol history, family illness and so on will be recorded one by one, and sleep time is one of the parameters.

This is a large sample survey. Data of1160,000 people were collected. Among the subjects, the youngest was 30 years old and the oldest was 102 years old. In the questionnaire, subjects need to truthfully fill in their average sleep time every night, round it to the nearest hour and then enter it into the database. Six years later, the investigators paid a return visit to these subjects and counted the names of the living and the dead, so as to calculate the mortality rate of each group with different sleep duration. The final result we mentioned at the beginning-excluding the influence of other environmental factors, living habits and health status, the average death rate of people who sleep for 7 hours a night is the lowest, followed by those who sleep for 6 hours a night, and the death rate of people who sleep for 8 hours a night is higher than that of people who sleep for 7 hours a night 12%.

In addition to the length of sleep, whether insomnia has an impact on health is also a topic that is easy to arouse people's interest. This study also studies the relationship between insomnia and health by investigating the number of insomnia in each subject in the past month. Surprisingly, insomnia has little effect on mortality, and the number of insomnia (from never insomnia to more than 10 insomnia per month) has nothing to do with the mortality of the corresponding group. However, under the same insomnia frequency, long-term use of sleeping pills to help sleep will obviously increase the mortality of people who sleep 7- 10 hours a day.

If it is easy to understand that "taking sleeping pills for a long time will affect people's health", then "sleeping for 7 hours instead of 8 hours a day is good for your health" and "insomnia is harmless to your health" have undoubtedly subverted the three views of many friends. Can the interpretation of this study really confirm these two conclusions? The first author of the research paper, Professor Daniel F Kripke from the University of California, San Diego, is very cautious about this evaluation [2].

Regarding the first point, although there is a strong correlation between the length of sleep and the mortality rate of the subjects within 6 years, the causal relationship between them has not been proved. At present, it is impossible to confirm whether the length of sleep time leads to the difference in mortality, or whether some hidden diseases with high mortality in the short term affect the length of sleep time. Either way, the mechanism remains to be clarified. Regarding the second point, many times the so-called "insomnia" is not a real lack of sleep. After careful calculation, many subjects' sleep time is still within the sleep range of normal people. In addition, this study only considered the influence of insomnia frequency on short-term mortality, and problems such as sleepiness, depression or inattention were not paid attention to in this study. It is obviously too early to assert that insomnia is harmless to human health before making a clear definition of insomnia and testing other effects of insomnia on human body [4].

Conclusion: Are you worried about your health because you haven't slept well under pressure in recent weeks? There is no need, long-term use of sleeping pills to help sleep may not be worth the candle. Although it is unwise to set the alarm clock forward one hour every day until we know the mechanism between sleep and health, this study at least tells us that maybe humans don't need that much sleep.
