There is no automatic tool to transfer websites for you. However, if your existing site is small enough, there is a quick and simple way for your Wix to sort Shopify migration, and I will show you how it works. Please note that because these two services do not have the same template, your website will not look exactly the same. But since Shopify's template looks great, your website will be great. I should also notice that the way to add products to the store is basically the same on both builders. This article focuses on how to copy the content of your website.

It seems obvious what you need, but you need to build an existing website on Wix and transfer it. In this tutorial, I used a demonstration website based on Wix, which I created after seeing many website builders at one time.
Basically, this is a one-page website, and it has issued a press release, which is full of photos of my cat:
The website has several common page elements: some text superimposed on pictures, three columns containing pictures and text describing the "function" of the website, and a press release registration form. Oh, there is also a disclaimer, which mentions an important fact that this is not the real service I provide, although maybe I should.
The second thing I highly recommend is to download all the pictures of your website to one or two folders on your computer. Although you can copy/paste the text directly from your website, you must upload the picture as a file.
Shopify Registration and Website Setup Step 1: We must create a Shopify website so that you can copy content into it. Just click the green button on the Shopify homepage:
If you don't have a Shopify account, you will be prompted to fill in some information. In addition to the usual email and password combination, you also need to enter your store name.
Remember, your store name will also be a subdomain. In other words, if you name your store "big cake and small bucket of ice cream", you can find your store on "hugekexandandtinybucketsofticecream. myshopify.com", but I still recommend a shorter one.
However, you can always replace the "myshopify" domain in the future-yes, you can transfer a domain from Wix to shopify. In fact, the Wix knowledge base has a complete tutorial.
When Shopify generates your website, you will see a short loading screen, and then you need to fill in more information. Just answer the questions and be ready to enter the address of your store. Even if you only have one home address, you need one. Otherwise, you won't get paid.
When finished, you will be taken to a login page showing the next few steps. First, let's look at the custom theme options.
Clicking the custom theme button will take you to a screen with more options. You can change the existing theme of the website by changing the color and brand, or you can choose a completely different theme.
Shopify has many free themes and themes available for purchase. You can also upload themes purchased on third-party services, such as ThemeForest.
In this article, I insist on using the default theme. It allows me to recreate the layout I used on the old demo website (mostly) without any difficulty.
There is also an important button on the login page: add domain, where you can transfer through Wix domain. First, you enter the Wix management panel, unlock the domain name and write down the authorization code somewhere.
Then click the Add Domain button in Shopify and select the transfer domain instead of the purchase domain. Enter the authorization code mentioned above, and the whole process should start there.
Now, before you actually start copying content, you may need to set up other pages of the website. As long as you enter the online store > page, you can start there. For example, I created an "About Us" page.
It is good to copy your content, so you need to know that although Shopify has a website builder function that allows you to customize your design and layout, you can only customize the layout of the home page.
According to the theme you choose, define a simple layout every other page. All your product pages look similar to provide a consistent experience. The same is true for extra content pages and blog posts.
P So, first of all, I will show you how to copy the content to the advanced website builder on the home page.
The home page builder works basically the same as many other website builders because it doesn't allow real drag-and-drop design. Instead, you can choose from many prefabricated content blocks, which have room for text and images. Then, just enter the actual content in the fields provided.
All changes are made in the toolbar on the left side of the screen. Click Add to add new content, and you can start.
The content blocks you can use include the above-mentioned images, columns and newsletter forms with superimposed text, as well as the image library and (of course) your product catalog.
This is an online store, so as you might expect, the content is store-centric to some extent.
When you add a content block or "section", the sidebar will display many options and fields where you can paste text and upload images. The page preview will automatically update as you move forward, so that you can see the effect of each change. From then on, it just copied and pasted things.
You will see that some content blocks and parts can be nested within other content blocks and parts. For example, the Column content block is composed of other smaller content blocks in which you can insert text and images.
The sidebar does provide you with some relevant content, but it may be a bit difficult to know exactly where you are in all content layers.
But once you actually edit a single column or "sub-content block", the process is the same. Upload pictures and paste words. enjoy
It is good to edit other pages, and it is better to copy and paste here. If you have ever used an old version of MSWord or WordPress, these controls may be very familiar to you. You just need to edit your content word processing style.
You can upload pictures and format the text as you like, but you can't make any changes to the layout. This is a bit restrictive, but at least no one will get lost in this interface.
Now I have added some virtual text. This is what the page looks like on the client.
To sum up, once you master the working principle of prefabricated content blocks, it is quite easy to copy your website from Wix to Shopify. Remember, for the home page, the content block is just; Make every other page easier, even if it means your layout options are limited. Similarly, if you buy a domain name with Wix, you can transfer your Wix domain name to Shopify. You just need to watch the tutorials in the Wix Knowledge Base, or follow the steps I outlined above.
This is the complete design of my homepage:
That's it! Of course, Shopify has a lot of experience, such as managing the whole store and so on. But this is for you to explore. If you have migrated your website to Shopify, please tell us how it is going.
For visual learners, I also made a short video tutorial, which can guide you through this process.

How does FAQ connect my Wix website to Shopify? Unfortunately, you can't synchronize the Wix store with Shopify, but there is a way to embed Shopify products in Wix pages. If you already have a Wix website and a Shopify store, and you want to keep them, then you may want to try this. However, this option requires a lot of work. You must create a Wix page for each of your products and embed some Shopify code in each page. To tell the truth, this is really half the effort. In other words, if you only sell a few products, this is certainly feasible. Is Wix better than Shopify? It depends on what you mean by "easier". I found that most online shop solutions are basically the same in ease of use (especially our top website builders). Adding products and managing inventory are fairly standardized processes. But when it comes to designing your own website, do you customize whatever you like? Wix is your best choice. (For more information, please read our expert Wix review.
