When participating in the video compression track competition, ZTE won the runner-up with the objective index of video quality MS-SSIM (multi-scale structural similarity) second and PSNR (peak signal-to-noise ratio) first.
Speaking of this, many people who don't know much about video compression technology may still be confused. As the name implies, video compression is to reduce the size of video files through technical means, while paying attention to maintaining the clarity of the picture.
In fact, video compression technology is the basic technology of 5G video, and it is also the key technology applied in 5G+MEC industry. Thirdly, it is analyzed from the technical level of video portrait matting. ZTE won the third place in CVPR video portrait matting challenge, ranking third in the world, which not only demonstrated its team's efficient collaboration ability, but also demonstrated ZTE's strength in AI technology.
It is reported that portrait matting refers to a technical form of identifying the human contour boundary by technical means and separating it from the image background. Through video portrait matting technology, the virtual background of video conference, video call and video live broadcast can be set, which can effectively empower new applications and new modes in the 5G industry.
