The foundation of environmental protection is environmental monitoring, which plays a great role in environmental protection. Therefore, strengthening environmental monitoring management and improving the overall level of managers are the core parts of environmental protection. In the new era, there are still some problems in environmental testing, such as backward monitoring methods and insufficient professional quality of testing personnel, which need to be solved urgently. At present, there are still many problems in China's environmental monitoring quality management system, and its development is relatively backward. Therefore, effective measures must be taken to improve the quality management system of environmental monitoring. This paper first expounds the definition and characteristics of environmental monitoring, then analyzes the problems existing in environmental monitoring in the new period and improves the quality management system, and puts forward relevant solutions to improve the level of environmental monitoring.
