The story of building only the third floor
In ancient times, there was a rich man, but he was stupid. He visited a rich family and saw a three-story building, which was spacious, tall, solemn, gorgeous, bright and airy. He was very envious and thought, "I have no less money than him." Why didn't I build such a building before? " So he immediately called a carpenter and asked, "Do you know how to build a beautiful three-story building like his home?"
The carpenter replied, "I built that building in his house."
The rich man said, "please build me a building now!" " "
So the carpenter cleaned the foundation, surveyed the land, made bricks and prepared Gai Lou. When the fool saw his arrangement, he became suspicious and could not understand it. He asked him, "What are you doing?"
The carpenter replied, "This is the material for building three floors."
The fool said, "I don't want to build the next two floors. You build the top floor for me first."
The carpenter replied, "There is no such thing!" How can you build a second floor without building the ground floor! How to build the third floor without building the second floor! "
The fool stubbornly said, "I just don't want the bottom two floors." You must build me the top one. "
Some people laughed at him after hearing the story: "Strange, ridiculous. How can the second and third floors above be built without covering the next floor? "
For example, among the four generations of disciples of Sakyamuni Buddha, some people are ungodly and practice respecting Buddha, dharma and monk, but they are lazy, but they have to correct their fruits. Therefore, he said, "I don't need the three fruits of sutra, tuo and Ananda now, but I just want to cultivate the highest fruit of the fourth Siraitia grosvenorii." This was also laughed at by people at that time, no different from this fool.
Dabu pill reading notes:
The story of castles in the air comes from this. (Some people say that it is from historical records. Strictly speaking, the idiom "castles in the air" comes from Historical Records, and the story originally comes from Baiyujing. )
"If you climb high, you will feel inferior. If you go far, you will feel inferior."
It is different from sharbat's metaphor, but the description is the same. I, sharbat, said that I don't want to start practicing because I know the road to practice is very long.
This is only to get the result of practice, not to start from the foundation.
This story is familiar to everyone.
I hope you can remember this story when you find yourself with unrealistic goals.
