English format of the paper
Detailed format of English papers:

I. Title

A long English paper generally needs a title page, and its writing format is as follows: the distance from the title of the first line to the top of the printing paper is about one-third of the total length of the printing paper, and the distance from the title to the bottom line is 5cm. The third and fourth lines are the author's name and date, respectively.

Second, the outline

The outline page of an English paper includes topic sentences and the outline itself. Its standard format is as follows: type the word "thesis" and a colon at the beginning of the first line, and then type the topic sentence after leaving a space. When returning, the left side should be aligned with the first letter of the topic sentence.

The main outline is marked with capital Roman numerals, and the secondary outline is marked with capital English letters, Arabic numerals and lowercase English letters in turn. Add a dot after each number or letter, and type the first letter of the content with a blank space; The top, bottom and left sides of the same level of contour must be aligned.

Three. abstract

1. English abstract is a short article, which uses a written language that conforms to English grammar and provides a summary of the content of the paper. The content is basically the same as the Chinese abstract, but it is not necessary to be completely sentence by sentence.

2. English titles, abstracts and keywords form a page (1 page is enough), which is placed after the Chinese abstract page.

3. English fonts and line spacing: "Times New Roman" is used uniformly for "Western fonts", with 1.5 times line spacing.

4. English topic: Bold with the third word.

5. English abstract: "abstract" is capitalized, the fourth word is used, and it is bold.

The English abstract uses the fourth word to express the specific content.

6. English keywords: "keywords" In the top case, use the fourth word and make it bold.

Fourth, the text.

For English papers with title page and outline page, the standard format of the first page of the text is: the title of the paper is centered, about 5cm from the top of the printing paper and about 1.5cm from the first line of the text. The first letter of a paragraph must be indented by five spaces, that is, starting from the sixth space.

There is no need to mark the page number on the first page of the text. Starting from the second page, the author's surname must be indicated in the upper right corner of each page, and then the page number must be indicated by Arabic numerals after leaving a space; Arabic numerals should be the last space in this line.

Verb (abbreviation of verb) is quoted in the text

It is an important link in writing English papers to quote the original works or the opinions of experts and scholars correctly. We should not only pay attention to the organic unity of citation and paper, that is, its logic, but also pay attention to the standardization of citation format (that is, English paper references).

Quote other people's opinions, either directly or indirectly. In any case, the author of the paper must indicate the author and source of the quoted text. The usual practice in American academic circles is to indicate the author and source of the quotation in brackets after the quotation.

Philology of intransitive verbs

The author of the paper must provide a detailed publication of all the quotations in the paper at the end of the text, that is, the document catalogue page. American colleges and universities generally call this page a work citation page, and its format should pay attention to the following points:

The table of contents page should be separated from the text, printed on another page, and placed after the text.

The directory page should be regarded as a page of an English paper, and the author's surname and page number should be indicated in the upper right corner in the order of page number of the paper; If the entry is more than one page, the first page does not need to be marked with the author's surname and page number, and the remaining pages are still marked with the author's surname and page number in sequence.
