Professor Yang Jinlong's research group, a member of ICQD Center, recently proposed a new catalytic mechanism for photolysis of water, which made it possible to produce hydrogen by photolysis of water with infrared light, paving the way for the full-spectrum utilization of solar energy in the future. Professor Yang Jinlong's research group proposed a two-dimensional nano-catalyst with intrinsic electric dipole moment, which can break through the limitation of traditional theory on the energy gap (1.23eV) of the catalyst. Professor Xiong Yujie of China University of Science and Technology designed a kind of cocatalyst with atomic precise shell structure, which greatly improved the hydrogen production performance by photolysis of water while reducing the amount of noble metal platinum cocatalyst, and provided a new way for developing low-cost and high-performance photocatalytic materials. This achievement was published online on October 6th, 20 15/KLOC-0, and was selected as one of the "Very Important Papers" of this journal.
