Representative figures in the history of Chinese bridges
-In ancient China, bridge experts with outstanding technical achievements were not valued by feudal rulers in feudal society, and their traces were rarely left in history books. It is a great pity that we know nothing about them except the world-famous ancient bridges.

-Li Chun, a bridge builder in Sui Dynasty. Zhao Zhouqiao (Anji Bridge) was built from the 15th year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty to the beginning of Daye (595 ~ 605). It has survived for more than 1400 years and is one of the wonders in the architectural history of China. Zhao Zhouqiao's open-shouldered arc arch is a great creation of working people in China, and the west is more than 600 years later than China. Its completion has an important influence in the history of Chinese bridges, and its bridge construction with long span, arc arch and open shoulders has opened up a new world. After the Sui Dynasty, many large arch bridges similar to those in Zhao Zhouqiao appeared, and now more than a dozen have been discovered. Zhao Zhouqiao has become a model of bridge construction in China.

-Cai Xiang (10 12- 1067) was born in the Song Dynasty. The Luoyang Bridge in Quanzhou, which he presided over, is the oldest existing cross-sea beam stone bridge in China and the beginning of the raft foundation of bridges in the world. It is called "the first bridge in Fujian" by Mao Yisheng.

—— Mao Yisheng (1896 ——1989), civil engineer, bridge expert and engineering educator. In 1930s, he presided over the design and organized the construction of Qiantang River Highway-Railway Bridge, which became a milestone in the history of railway bridges in China. Qiantang River Bridge is not only a milestone in the history of Chinese bridge construction, but also the cradle of Chinese bridge engineers. Mr. Mao Yisheng turned the construction site into a school, absorbed a large number of students majoring in civil engineering to participate in engineering practice, and trained a number of bridge engineering talents for the country. Some responsible persons of some important bridge projects in China, such as Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge and Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, have all experienced the baptism of Qiantang River Bridge construction. 1955 to 1957, Mao Yisheng is the chairman of the technical advisory committee of Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge.

—— Mei Yangchun (1900- 1962), a famous bridge expert. 1934, Mao Yisheng built Qiantang River Bridge and hired Mei Yangchun as the main engineering department. 1936 presided over the preliminary design of Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge. 1938 is responsible for the comprehensive audit of Gongguo Bridge across Lancang River. 1940, design of Liujiang Bridge, a key project of Xianggui Railway. Wanglongmen Cable Car, the first mountaineering cable car in Chongqing, was designed and built in 1944. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he was the captain of the survey and drilling team when Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge was built, and participated in planning, design, test and construction lofting. He was the chief engineer in the construction of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge and died during the construction of 1962 Bridge. 1985 won the first national science and technology progress award, with Mei Yangchun as the first winner. The bridge experts trained by Mei Yangchun are constantly completing the great bridges on the Yangtze River.

—— Brandon Lee (19 13~2005), a famous bridge scientist. A practical method of suspension bridge deflection theory was established, which was widely circulated in civil engineering. 1943 puts forward a sufficient criterion for elastic equilibrium bifurcation, which has universal guiding significance. 1958 published the article "Bending Theory of Oblique Anisotropic Plates and Its Application in Inclined Bridges", which was quoted by academic circles in the name of "Lee's Theory". 1973 established the "bending and torsion theory of truss beams". 1977, his book Calculation of Lateral Load Distribution of Highway Bridges became the final summary of this traditional discipline that lasted for 30 years. Since 1978, it has opened up a new field of bridge wind resistance research and attracted the attention of the international engineering community. 1988 explores the post-flutter performance of cable-stayed bridges, which has never been studied before and has achieved meaningful results. His achievements shine with wisdom, thus winning the prestige at home and abroad.

-Fang Qinhan (1925~? ), bridge expert, academician of China Academy of Engineering. Engaged in bridge engineering design for more than 50 years, participated in or presided over the design and research of dozens of bridges, especially steel beam bridges. He served as the overall design director of Hengyang Xiangjiang Highway and Railway, presided over the design of Wujiang Bridge on Sichuan-Guizhou line and Baishatuo Yangtze River Bridge in Chongqing, participated in the whole process of design, scientific research, construction and technical summary of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, served as the leader of steel beam design team of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, presided over the steel beam design and scientific research of Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge, and presided over the projects of Beijiang Bridge on Guang Mao line, Jiyun Bridge on Jingshan line, Haimen Bridge in Tanggu, Tianjin, Hongqiao in Ziya River and Haimen Bridge in Tianjin. In the design and scientific research of steel beams of Wuhan, Nanjing, Jiujiang and Wuhu Yangtze River Bridges, new structural technologies such as new steel, long-span thick plate bolted welded beams, composite truss beams, movable double-deck slings and double hinge closure method have been developed and applied. Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge 1998 won the first prize of national scientific and technological progress, and Fang Qinhan ranked first ~
