Different from the graduates of other universities, more than half of the students who offer undergraduate courses in domestic economics in Shanghai are already domestic workers at the beginning of their enrollment, while most of the others who register for personal interests or family needs have undergraduate diplomas in other majors.

Since the class started in March, 2002/KLOC-0, many students engaged in front-line domestic service have achieved promotion and salary increase, and some people have become entrepreneurs because they are optimistic about the domestic industry. "Home Economics is a major that has been misunderstood for a long time. The undergraduate course of domestic economics in Shanghai is by no means what the public calls' cultivating college students into aunts', but cultivating aunts into college students. Traditionally, housekeeping is a labor-intensive industry, and domestic workers belong to low-income groups. But in reality, with more and more families demanding higher quality and specialization of domestic service, excellent domestic workers have become scarce resources.

Different from ordinary college graduates, Shanghai Kaida General School has set up two directions of enterprise management and advanced service at the beginning of the undergraduate course of domestic economics according to the survey results of students' employment intentions. If the students in the advanced service class are mainly front-line domestic workers, the business management class is mostly domestic business owners or senior managers of well-known domestic institutions.

After more than two years of undergraduate study, in addition to compulsory courses such as College English, Politics, Computer, Introduction to Home Economics, Family Sociology and Home Economics Management, there are also specialized courses such as home economics laws and regulations, home economics enterprise management and human resources management. Therefore, there are many cases in which students in business administration classes change from executives to entrepreneurs.
