His loyal friend Hassan promised to help him-because he always helped Amir-but this was 1970s Afghan Ann. It unexpectedly stayed on the The New York Times bestseller list for more than a year, and it was also the third best-selling novel in the United States last year.
2 feeling after reading
I watched The Kite Runner because of my friend's strong recommendation. The Kite Runner was written by khaled hosseini. There is a sentence in this book: There are many children in Afghanistan, but there is no childhood. One of the main reasons why Khalid Husseini achieved great success is that he wrote a sentence: Even in the darkest night sky, there are still the brightest stars twinkling. This land is depressed because of conservative thinking and clear because of unshakable religious beliefs; This land is desperate because of the war, and full of hope because of the ancient tradition: the obvious class concept of this land is unbearable, and because of the beautiful and simple thoughts, her children resolutely stick to this "troubled land". This book has been conveying the idea of cherishing love and peace. This novel won the 2006 United Nations Humanitarian Award for its author, and was invited as a goodwill ambassador of UNHCR, because this doctor with an American green card was originally an Afghan immigrant.
This is a shocking novel, which made me feel a lot after reading it. In fact, each of us should have a kite in our hearts, which can represent affection, friendship, love, integrity, kindness and honesty. For Amir, kite metaphor is an indispensable part of his personality. Only when he catches up, can he become a sound person and become his self-expected Amir.
The beginning and end of the novel overlap and become two similar pictures: the vast sky, falling snowflakes, cold air, children chasing kites laughing and running, chasing fleeting light and shadow. This scene is repeated in different regions and generations, but between each repetition, life has changed dramatically, and this picture has been dyed with new colors with the change of the protagonist's fate, falling into the sadness of world change from the innocent eyes of children.
Amir lived in a wealthy family in Afghanistan since childhood, and lost his mother since childhood, but he had a servant Hassan, who also lost his mother since childhood but was like brothers. Hassan is loyal to Amir. No matter what Amir did, he always trusted and tolerated. When Amir was bullied by bad children, he also stood up and stood up for his friends. However, deep down in Amir's heart, he clearly felt that he did not regard Hassan, who was born in humble origins and illiterate, as a friend.
In Afghanistan, there has always been a tradition of kite competitions in winter, and according to the usual practice, those kites that have been shot down can be regarded as the winners' rewards. Hassan is clever and clever, and he is a good kite runner. A winter kite competition completely broke the friendship between Amir and Hassan. In that competition, Amir became the champion, and Hassan chased the kite that was shot down for the little master.
Accustomed to Hassan's promise, Amir knew that he would successfully complete the task. He waited with joy for Hassan to bring his trophy, but Hassan didn't come back, so Amir had to go out and look for it. But when I found Hassan, I was shocked. It turned out that Hassan, the little boy who caught up with the kite, was in trouble: he was threatened by several bad boys who had quarreled with Amir, and the other party forced him to take out the kite, but Hassan didn't want to, so he suffered the greatest shame in his life because of his weakness-he was raped by these bad boys! Even so, he tried his best to protect the kite that was shot down. -all the cruelty, Amir standing in the corner can see it, but he doesn't have the courage to stop it!
After that incident, Amir began to suffer from shame and pain. He knows that he is very sorry for his friends, and he is cowardly and hypocritical. This feeling has been overwhelming him. Finally, he lied to his father that Hassan was a thief and asked him to drive them away. Even this unwarranted injury, Hassan also admitted without complaint. Although their father insisted on keeping them, they left sadly.
A few years later, Amir went to America with his father, and his former superior life was gone forever. Their life in America was awkward, but his father always took responsibility. With his efforts, Amir successfully completed his studies, began to work, fell in love and got married until his father died. For him, a dull life is just a good way for him to forget his past memories.
One day after his father died, Amir accidentally learned that Hassan was actually his half-brother! Back in Afghanistan, Hassan was dead, and Amir found the children he left behind. In the past, he took this little nephew and decided to take the responsibility of being a father for Hassan. When talking to Hassan's son about his father chasing kites, Amir was full of admiration and respect. He took Hassan's youngest son to fly a kite.
The emotion in the book is not only family, but also friendship. As long as anyone can sink down to read, he will be moved by the emotion that points directly at people's hearts, and will also reflect the mood he once had. Husseini's pen is like a sharp meat cleaver, almost cruelly depicting the truth of human nature, but without grandstanding. Maybe the ending of the story is not perfect, maybe a little bitter and sour. But life is like this, make mistakes, miss them, and then save them with your life.
Besides Amir and Hassan, this book also includes Afghanistan. We only know the poverty in Afghanistan and the war between Afghanistan and the United States, but after reading this book, we can learn more about the political power, public security and living conditions in Afghanistan. This is the result of poverty and war. People have no chance to accept spiritual edification, and are full of arrogance, selfishness and evil, which makes people fear Amir's situation.
I have to say that it is a waste to read the rich connotation of this book once, and we have to read it many times to further understand the essence.
