Chen Xiangsheng established the basic system of physical mechanics of artificial frozen soil. The theoretical system and formula of space-time design for double control of deformation limit of frozen wall and frozen pipe in deep well are constructed, and the problem of prevention and control of frozen pipe break is solved. The first set of centrifugal soil freeze-thaw cycle simulator in China was developed, and the practical technology of restraining freeze-thaw was put forward. The development of horizontal freezing technology provides a golden key for preventing water inrush and sand gushing in underground engineering. The technology of "digging-measuring-intelligent-controlling" group pump grouting to correct the deformation of buildings under subway tunnels is established. Led the research and development of the combined technology of "reinforcement-jumping excavation-back pressure-isolation-precise survey" for the underground space construction of cross-subway operating tunnels, which reduced the standard control limit of operating tunnels to less than 3 meters and released a large number of land resources that could not be used in the subway safety zone.
