What's the difference between an essay and an argumentative essay?
1, academic papers emphasize a "new" word. An academic paper is a confirmatory paper, which proves the establishment of a new viewpoint or its sub-arguments. Argumentative writing is declarative and expository, talking about one's feelings and opinions, even whimsy (political comments and current reviews in newspapers belong to this category). Argumentative essays can be written repeatedly.

2. Academic papers emphasize that the arguments are fully conclusive and typical, with special emphasis on the use of first-hand materials (examples). Although argumentative essays also emphasize arguments, the requirements are not high. There are even some argumentative papers, in which the author expounds his point of view through his own logical argument.

3. The argumentation and format of academic papers should be standardized, and argumentative papers can be eclectic.
