At present, education in China is facing many problems. In colleges and universities, the huge class of poor students has become a realistic problem. It is appropriate to recognize students' historical responsibility at such a special key point as the centenary of modern education in China this year. Nowadays, college students are facing all kinds of complicated problems, such as high tuition fees, employment difficulties and so on. In recent two years, cases such as Liu Haiyang and Ma Jiajue have made people realize the psychological problems of college students in China. Until now, experts and scholars have failed to give a convincing explanation for this phenomenon. With the rapid development of higher education, "what is a good campus and what kind of education is a good education?" Such problems are endless. What is real education? Einstein once said, "When you forget all the courses you studied at school, the rest is education." He also said that "more than three-quarters of a person's knowledge is learned outside the classroom." The school gate of Harvard University is engraved with: "Come in to increase wisdom, and go out to serve the motherland and compatriots." This may reveal the connotation of education in some aspects. At present, humanities education and science education in China are divided into two parts, and the conflict between the two cultures is becoming more and more fierce. Humanists think that scientific and technological elements are vulgar, indifferent to human history and culture, lacking aesthetic common sense, and only concerned about the utility of reality. Scientific and technological intellectuals, on the other hand, think that humanists lack love and care for their compatriots. They are more concerned about classical knowledge that has nothing to do with people's livelihood, have a sense of cultural superiority, are poor and pedantic, and are full of dissatisfaction with the real society. Humanities scholars and science and technology scholars stand on the opposite side and attack each other, which makes the talents trained by the whole education only professionals, which is extremely unfavorable to the development of society. At present, the classification of universities is too strict, limiting students to a narrow major. Although students can learn some professional knowledge, they also lose their grasp of the whole culture, thus creating a group of almost useless super experts and idiot doctors. Compared with western countries, there are many problems in our current education system, which is largely caused by history. Western higher education originated from liberal education in ancient Greece. Their purpose is to cultivate "a broad, all-round and kind-hearted whole person", that is, to cultivate people with perfect body and mind. Goethe is such a worldwide genius, but unfortunately, such a genius has hardly appeared since Goethe Classic. This educational thought was also spread to some extent in China after the May 4th New Culture Movement. At present, the purpose of higher education in China is to cultivate people with independent production capacity and certain professional skills and professional ability. In layman's terms, it is to cultivate intellectuals who can support their families. Our college students' social responsibility is to educate and transfer social atmosphere. In essence, experts and intellectuals are different. Intellectuals who can develop nuclear weapons are experts, and those who can sign the anti-nuclear declaration are real intellectuals. Since the founding of New China, the education in China has always been very utilitarian, that is, it attaches great importance to the development of science and technology and popularizes those basic engineering education. At present, the domestic educational circles are also aware of this problem, paying too much attention to the development of science and technology and neglecting humanities education. It has caused great trouble to the education in China. In order to solve this problem, the relevant education departments have begun to formulate some programs. For example, the college entrance examination system used to be completely divided into arts and sciences, but now it is a small comprehensive system, and some places implement a large comprehensive system. This also reflects from a certain aspect that the talents needed by society are generalists rather than professionals. For the industrialization of China, we need not only technical talents, but also organizational talents and management talents. Their knowledge is not limited to technology, but also includes research in psychology, ethical philosophy and moral society. What society needs is generalists, followed by experts. An expert without a generalist is not a real expert. Technically speaking, it is relatively easy to reach a specific level, but how social managers should manage it is beyond the answer of technology itself. Therefore, it is very important for us college students to cultivate knowledge other than professional knowledge. At present, college students should pay attention to big problems and social problems, especially those outside their majors, and strive to attract all kinds of knowledge and become generalists as much as possible, instead of becoming specialists like the recent mine disaster? Why are there no effective methods to maintain the personal safety of miners? Why do so many operators pursue the so-called economic value regardless of the miners' lives? "This za problem is our college students should consider. Although China's current education situation is far from ideal, and education corruption has cast a layer of coal dust on sacred education, as the main body of receiving higher education, contemporary college students should still establish a correct outlook on life, values and world outlook. To look at the problem comprehensively, we should not only look at the present situation, but also look at history and the future. So is learning knowledge. Don't be limited to a certain major or aspect. You should know that generalists have a bigger market than professionals. Only by becoming a generalist can we better understand professional knowledge. Finally, I hope all college students can work hard in this direction. It is you who changed education in China in 20 years.
Please accept it, thank you!
