In China, basketball is a relatively popular sport, which plays an important role in physical education teaching in colleges and universities. With the development of basketball, basketball teaching has been paid more and more attention. The quality of teaching methods depends on the leading role of teachers and the enthusiasm of students. Basketball club came into being under this background. At present, the understanding of basketball club in academic circles mostly refers to the association or group organized by the basketball teaching and research section, in which students participate independently on the basis of voluntariness, mutual assistance and reciprocity, and have corresponding rights and obligations. Club teaching increases students' freedom of learning, which can give full play to teachers' leading role and students' enthusiasm, but it also brings great difficulties to school teaching management. Therefore, this paper takes basketball club as the research object to explore the feasibility of basketball club teaching mode.
First, the theoretical basis of club teaching mode
Different educational views often put forward different teaching models. Under the guidance of the current "people-oriented" educational concept, the traditional physical education classroom teaching is also facing challenges. The new mode of club teaching is a beneficial supplement and innovation to traditional teaching.
1, the requirement of deepening teaching reform. According to the spirit of the "National Physical Education Curriculum Instruction Outline for Colleges and Universities" issued by the Ministry of Education in 20xx, this paper analyzes the problems existing in the current physical education in colleges and universities, and puts forward the following suggestions: physical education in colleges and universities should take quality education as the core, reform all aspects of teaching-teaching content, diversified teaching organization forms and teaching methods, and scientific and objective evaluation system that can reflect the pursuit of lifelong health value. 2. Requirements of quality education. Quality education focuses on improving people's quality and innovation ability, and deepening the reform of education system and structure. Physical education is an important content of quality education, and innovation ability is the core of physical education, which should be implemented and infiltrated into all aspects of physical education. People-oriented and student-centered is the general trend of educational reform and development in the new century.
3. Requirements of lifelong physical education. The purpose of lifelong sports is to maintain good physical condition and state, adapt to the needs of rapid social changes and continuous innovation of science and technology, and improve self-survival conditions. As an educational idea, lifelong physical education has become the main content of physical education reform in colleges and universities.

Giving students the power of organization, management and activities has improved their learning enthusiasm and increased their learning initiative. 2. Teaching mode
The club is divided into three teaching levels: primary, intermediate and advanced, which breaks the grade boundary. The equipment and teachers in the school are the internal factors to realize the teaching mode of basketball club. To realize basketball club teaching, certain equipment and teachers are essential. Take Southern College of Sun Yat-sen University as an example. There are 25 basketball courts in our college, including 4 indoor basketball courts. As far as its venues are concerned, there are enough venues to meet the activities of students. There are 8 basketball teachers in our college, including associate professor 1 person and 4 lecturers, one of whom has participated in the National College Basketball League. It can meet the needs of club form development from the aspects of venue equipment and teachers' equipment in colleges and universities.
