So after class, I told some students to use these texts as material when giving speeches, while others did not deploy them.
Results It took only 10 minutes for the students who explained in advance to recite quite well. The other part of the students who have not been deployed will take more than 30 minutes to recite. Later, I encouraged my classmates to collect lecture materials from English newspapers and magazines after class or online, so as to better cultivate their interest in learning and improve their expression ability and reading ability. So the students found a large number of English essays, such as poems, fables, stories and even popular science essays. The content of the speech is also more diverse. Some lectures are about tigers and monkeys, some are about teachers and policemen, and some are about different weather in different countries ... The content is very rich and colorful, which greatly inspires students' thinking. The classroom atmosphere is extremely active and the learning effect is very ideal.
Diversified forms of speeches: Teachers can randomly call students to give speeches on stage, which is the basic form. Speakers on the stage can also call the roll, which is a more flexible and effective method. Students can also be divided into two rows, or two rows, or four teams, or multiple teams. Each team will find a few students to speak on stage and see which team can win the championship and crown in the form of a speech contest. The champion team that won the championship should applaud or send a small red flag, hoping to make persistent efforts and strive for greater victory. This form of speech is the best one. When using this method, the students are very excited, interested and full of sense of termination, and the effect is surprisingly good.
Through the five-minute speech before class, students' English level has improved rapidly and their reading ability is quite strong, which effectively cooperates with my classroom teaching. In the new textbook of People's Education Edition, many chapters and paragraphs appear in the form of situational dialogues, in which two or three people or more people engage in dialogues.
