Brief introduction of Ukraine
Although Ukraine has a population of only 50 million, there are 1.047 universities, which is roughly equivalent to that of China (China has more than1.65438 universities, but China has a population of nearly1.300 million). Just the number itself, it has made people respect.
Ukrainian education system
Ukraine has basically inherited the academic system of the former Soviet Union, including preschool education, general education, vocational and technical education, secondary professional education and higher education (including postgraduate education established by institutions of higher learning and scientific research institutions). The current higher education structure and degree system in Ukraine include expert qualification education and degree education.
At present, Ukrainian higher education also provides basic higher education, including bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctoral degree (associate doctoral degree), which is implemented by institutions of higher learning after the first level of incomplete higher education according to the basic professional education outline, aiming at cultivating experts with "bachelor's degree" according to the direction of higher education chosen by students, with a duration of four years. The school will award higher education diplomas and bachelor's degrees to students who have completed all courses (including internships) and passed all examinations. Students with a "bachelor's degree" can continue to receive higher education. The scope of bachelor's degree education is limited to humanities, social economy, science and some engineering majors.
Master's degree education is to receive two years of professional training (including scientific research or teaching practice) on the basis of bachelor's degree education, and the standard length of schooling is 2 years (plus bachelor's degree education ***6 years, that is, 4+2). The school issues higher education diplomas to students who have completed all the courses of master's degree in accordance with the regulations, passed the examination and defense, and passed the examination, and awarded the master's degree at the same time.
According to the national standard of higher vocational education in Ukraine, the original academic system of expert qualification education is retained-5 years. The school will issue higher education diplomas to students who have completed all the courses of expert qualification education in accordance with the regulations and passed the examination and defense, and at the same time grant expert qualifications to "engineers" and "agronomists".
Graduates of institutions of higher learning with "master's degree" or "expert qualification" can apply for associate doctoral students and study for associate doctoral degrees. The associate doctoral program lasts for 3 years, and those who pass the associate doctoral qualification examination can obtain the associate doctoral degree and the doctoral certificate (doctor) for overseas students in line with international standards.
The teaching in Ukrainian universities is mainly Russian, and foreign students mainly study Russian in the first year of preparatory course. Generally, colleges and universities have a five-year academic system (six years in medical universities), and they get a master's degree when they graduate (if they study for four years, they are allowed to graduate, but they can only get a bachelor's degree). At present, some majors in some colleges and universities are taught in English, with four years of undergraduate (bachelor's degree) and two years of master's degree.
In terms of academic qualifications, according to the Agreement between the Governments of People's Republic of China (PRC) and Ukraine on Mutual Recognition of Academic Qualifications and Degree Certificates signed by China and Ukraine in February 1998, China recognizes academic qualifications issued by Ukrainian institutions of higher learning and degree certificates issued by Ukrainian Supreme Academic Degrees Committee. Ukraine has 265,438+0,500 ordinary schools, 65,438+0,047 institutions of higher learning and 737 vocational and technical schools.

University of Ukraine
There are many universities in Ukraine with a history of 100 years. When our education delegation visited Ukraine, Zhang Tianbao, head of the delegation and vice minister of education, spoke highly of Ukraine's education. China is a big country in education, but it is not a strong country in education. However, Ukraine is an educational power. There are many universities and famous brands. For example, Kiev University ranks among the top ten universities in Europe and the top 20 universities in the world. Professor Mendeleev, who was famous at that time, is still in Kiev Institute of Technology, and he is unique in chemical engineering and new materials. Kiev International Civil Aviation University, the top three aviation universities in the world, has received students from more than 100 countries.
Kharkov University, founded in 1805, is not only the earliest second university in the former Soviet Union (the first university is Moscow University), but almost all professors in the physics department of Moscow University in Russia come from this school until today. There are Odessa University, which trained China's current Minister of Science and Technology Zhu Lilan, Ukrainian National Art Institute, Kiev Conservatory of Music (Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Music) and so on, which led the trend of oil painting in the former Soviet Union.
Since 1950s, a large number of China students studying in the Soviet Union have been studying in Ukraine. Today, they have become the pillars of our country and made great contributions to the socialist construction in China. After the normalization of Sino-Soviet relations in the late 1980s, Sino-Soviet cultural and educational exchanges began again. In the middle and late 1990s, the national study abroad policy was relaxed, and a group of students went to Ukrainian universities for further study at their own expense.
In recent years, because the country attaches great importance to educational exchanges between the two countries, it has successively signed a series of cooperation agreements such as mutual recognition of academic qualifications and exchange of international students. 1999 also specially sent an education delegation from China to visit Ukraine. The favorable environment and the characteristics of studying in Ukraine, such as low cost, high education level, high international awareness and good social order, have attracted more China students to study at their own expense.
