However, I think the poor quality of college students' graduation thesis writing largely highlights the problem of weak reading ability of college students in China. Due to their poor reading ability, a considerable number of college students can only borrow five or ten related books from school to start their graduation thesis writing, and because they can't effectively extract the information of reference books, they often use the words and opinions of the original books directly, or directly search for relevant information from the Internet and complete their thesis writing by copying and pasting. From the practice of strengthening fast reading skills training in foreign higher education, if most college students in our country have received fast reading training or education, they can quickly and accurately capture the information in reference books and incorporate it into their own thinking system as a reference, so as to avoid plagiarism and similarity of graduation thesis. Therefore, it involves the breadth and depth of students' graduation thesis reading. In this respect, these developed countries obviously do much better than us. Because they popularized fast reading education very early, students from primary school to middle school have strong fast reading ability, because they have to refer to a large number of books in their thesis writing, usually at least 30 to 50. If they can't read quickly and get the knowledge they need accurately, they can't finish their homework within the specified time. This is one of the reasons why there are more people consulting materials in foreign libraries than those who are relatively withered in China. Therefore, popularizing fast reading ability has become one of the urgent problems in university education. It is gratifying that the Ministry of Education has included the cultivation of students' fast reading ability in the teaching requirements. The new syllabus of the Ministry of Education stipulates the reading speed of ordinary modern literature for primary and middle school students: 300 words/minute for senior students, 500 words/minute for junior high school students and 600 words/minute for senior high school students. It can be predicted that in the near future, with the popularization of this kind of fast reading, students' fast reading ability will definitely make a qualitative leap, gradually narrowing the gap with developed countries such as the United States, and college students in China will also be influenced and cultivated by this skill education. Starting from fast reading, they will gradually pay attention to the improvement of learning skills, master the elite's fast reading and memory skills, and more talents with strong learning ability and rigorous style of study will emerge.
