This is impossible for two reasons:
Lack of professional knowledge at the graduate level;
2. Lack of research ability (including various abilities).
After two years of research, I got a master's degree and a master's degree in science (achieved by research methods). This kind of degree is rare in Britain and is generally regarded as a waste of time. The way to study this degree is to study purely without classes, but to enjoy all the resources of schools and colleges. The reason why people don't like this kind of degree is that they think it is better to study directly for MPhil or PhD than for it. ?
Master of Science (Master of Science) for one year, Master of Science (teaching method achieved). This kind of degree is a typical professorial master's degree, and it is also the most common degree for China students to study for a master's degree. This degree has four functions in the British education system:?
1. The role of further study If you work after graduation and find yourself in need of further study after many years, you can choose this degree. The characteristic of this degree is to review the core knowledge of this field for three years (three years in Britain) by lightning, introduce the latest ideas and topics in this field or simply introduce the application of related knowledge. Focus, pertinence and practicality run through this degree, and there is almost no research component. Students just keep attending classes and classes, and then finally choose a project from a list of projects and write a thesis to graduate. In this sense, MSc is work-oriented rather than research-oriented from the beginning. Most people go to work directly after graduation. In addition, we can see that there are many similarities between this degree and the fourth grade undergraduate in China, and the topic selection of the final graduation thesis is very passive. This is why some MSc require applicants to have work experience, because only with work experience can they have ideas and be more active in the final subject selection. In Britain, if an undergraduate chooses to study MSc after graduation, we can basically think that the undergraduate performance of this student is not very good. In fact, the competitiveness of British undergraduate graduates exceeds that of MSc graduates with no work experience! Therefore, if people who have worked in China want to "recharge" abroad and then return to work, MSc is the best choice! ?
2. change your major. If you majored in mathematics, but want to study finance in the future, then a master's degree in financial mathematics is undoubtedly the first choice. The reason has been mentioned above: one year supplements three years of core knowledge, with high gold content. Therefore, if you want to skip major, it is absolutely helpful to study MSc, which will enable you to acquire core knowledge in the shortest time, which will be of great benefit to your future doctoral studies or direct employment. ?
3. Specializing in a certain research direction of this major If your major is mathematics, but you want to do statistics (a branch of mathematics) in the future, then a master of science in statistics is very good. The reason is also mentioned in the first article. If you have a soft spot for statistics, but are not interested in other branches of mathematics, such as group theory and topology, then a master of science in statistics can help you screen out those fields and fully develop your interest in statistics. ?
4. Make up the gap between overseas graduates and British graduates. The knowledge level of American undergraduates is not very high, but it is different in Europe. The quality of undergraduate education in Britain, Germany and other countries is quite high, far higher than that in domestic universities. Therefore, students from domestic universities who want to receive postgraduate education in the UK had better take this kind of MSc courses first, so as to avoid being at a loss when studying for a PhD or MPhil.
