George Washington, 1732 was born in a slave owner's family on a big plantation in Virginia on February 22, and received a good education since childhood. He graduated from William and Mary College, one of the oldest aristocratic colleges in the United States. 1752 became the owner of Mount Vernon. Participated in the seven-year war, obtained the rank of lieutenant colonel and colonel, and accumulated experience in military command. 1758 was elected senator of Virginia. In the process of running farms and workshops, Washington was restricted and exploited by the British colonial authorities. 1774 and 1775, he attended the first and second continental congress as a representative of Virginia parliament. 1July 3, 775, Washington became the commander-in-chief of the continental army. He reorganized and trained a team with loose organization, insufficient training, backward equipment and lack of materials, mainly composed of local civilian troops, and became a regular army that could compete with the British army head-on. Through the battles of Trenton, Princeton and Yorktord, he defeated the British army and won the North American War of Independence. With the signing of 1783 Paris Peace Treaty, Britain was forced to recognize American independence. On February 23, 65438 of the same year, he submitted his resignation and returned to the field. 1787, he presided over the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention. Formulate a federal constitution, make unremitting efforts to eliminate the monarchy, and formulate and approve a constitution that guarantees the democratic rights of the proletariat. Washington died on 1799, two years after leaving office as president.
Washington has set many precedents for the future America. He chose to cede the presidency to john adams peacefully. This precedent of no more than two presidents is regarded as the most important influence of Washington on the United States.
Second, Washington has great achievements and honors:
Washington was the first president of the United States (1789 ~ 1797) and commander-in-chief of the continental army in the American revolution. 1789 was elected the first president of the United States, and 1793 was re-elected. After his term of office expired, he voluntarily retired to Mount Vernon. Because he played the most important role in the American War of Independence and the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), scholars rank him alongside abraham lincoln as the greatest president in American history.
It is worth mentioning that 1789 became the first president of the United States (and the first head of state with the title of "President" in the world) and won the unanimous support of all electoral college in two consecutive elections, which is unique in the history of world presidential elections. In addition, after two terms of office, Washington voluntarily gave up power and did not renew his post, which reflected a high degree of democracy.
Third, the later generations' evaluation of Washington:
Because of Washington's outstanding contributions to the United States and the American nation, he was honored as the father of the United States.
Washington has always been listed as one of the greatest American presidents by scholars. In 2006, Washington was awarded the second place of "100 people who influenced America" by the authoritative American periodical Atlantic Monthly.
After Washington's death, his former revolutionary war partner, Congressman Harry Lee, praised him quite well: he was a citizen, the first person in the war, the first person in peacetime and the first person in the eyes of his compatriots.
Finally, please allow me to conclude this article with a famous saying from Washington:
Friendship is like a tree, it needs to be cultivated slowly to grow a true friendship, and it needs to go through difficult tests to last forever.
