Through the clinical observation of ischemic stroke system, Wang Yongyan summarized the law of syndrome evolution, treatment based on syndrome differentiation and nursing care. The intravenous drip therapy of Huatan Tongfu Decoction and Qingkailing injection, which is designed for the phlegm-heat syndrome and phlegm-heat fu-organs in acute stroke, has improved the remarkable efficiency and reduced the illness and disability. In the research of new drugs, he also presided over the development of Tanreqing Injection, Congrong Yizhi Capsule and Naoshuantong Capsule. In the research of TCM standardization, he presided over the standardization construction of basic terms and terms of TCM, the writing standard of TCM medical records and the diagnosis and curative effect evaluation standard of TCM common diseases. 1999 presided over the national 973 project "Basic research on key scientific problems of prescriptions" and was hired as the chief scientist by the Ministry of Science and Technology. He put forward a new model of developing modern compound Chinese medicine by compatibility of prescription ingredients, which made some progress in the modernization of Chinese medicine and had a great academic influence at home and abroad in China.
