The School of Electronic Science and Engineering of Nanjing University, as the main talent training and scientific research base in the field of electronic information of Nanjing University, is the key discipline of "21Engineering" and "985 Project". Fourth, training methods.

1, PhD student

For the cultivation of each doctoral student, a special tutor guidance group is set up, which is "mainly based on dissertations and supplemented by courses". Doctoral students should complete most public and professional courses in the first semester, and begin to prepare the topic selection and opening report of graduation thesis under the guidance of the tutor. They should take the doctoral qualification examination no later than the middle of the third semester and enter the implementation stage of their dissertations after being examined and approved by the doctoral steering group.

2. Academic graduate students

Within one month after entering the school, academic master students will make a two-way choice between teachers and students, determine their tutors and make training plans. The instructor is responsible for comprehensive training. Master students take the form of professional guidance group, with courses as the main part and papers as the supplement. In the first academic year after entering school, we should complete the study of A, B and most of C and D courses, and under the guidance of the tutor, start preparing the topic selection and opening report of graduation thesis. You should finish the topic report before the start of the third semester at the latest, and enter the implementation stage of your graduation thesis after it is approved by the master's student guidance group.

3. Credit requirements:

Generally, it is 32 credits, and it is 36 credits for non-professional undergraduates and those with equivalent academic qualifications (including about 6-8 credits for 3-4 undergraduates). Among them, Class A is 8 credits; Class B: 8 credits for 3 courses, 6-8 credits for 2-3 courses in Class C, and the rest are optional courses. Class D courses, in principle, require master students of science and engineering to take no less than 3-4 credits in master courses across two disciplines or first-class disciplines.
