Release date: July 27, 2007 at 0: 59: 00; Number of readings: 169.

In order to further improve the quality of doctoral dissertations in this doctoral program and standardize the work of doctoral dissertations in this doctoral program, according to the spirit of the documents such as the Training Program for Doctoral Students in xx University, the Training Program for Doctoral Dissertations in Constitutional Law and Administrative Law in xx University, and the Basic Format of Doctoral Dissertations in xx University, combined with the actual situation of this doctoral program, the requirements for writing doctoral dissertations in this major are as follows:

First, the topic selection and topic opening.

After doctoral students enter the school, they should start to consider the topic of doctoral thesis, collect relevant information and demonstrate its feasibility. Wait until your thinking is relatively mature before discussing and demonstrating with your tutor. With the consent of the tutor, the topic is initially determined, and then the literature is further collected to prepare for the topic selection.

The topic selection of doctoral thesis should have at least the following five points: (1) "value", and the topic selection should consider the frontier or practical operability of the subject, which has important theoretical and practical significance and is worth studying; (2) "New", with novel topics, try to choose topics that others have not studied or have studied but have not broken through, so as to avoid repeated research; (3) "can", for this topic, doctoral students have accumulated a lot and can write well; (4) "small", the topic should be small, not the smaller the better, but make a mountain out of a molehill, which means that a doctoral thesis only solves a basic problem. Only when the topic is small, data can be collected, mining can be deepened, and papers can be really done; (5) "Speciality", the topic should be closely related to constitutional law, administrative law and other majors, which belongs to the scope of doctoral research in this major.

The topic of doctoral thesis is generally started before the end of the first academic year (the end of June of that year). Only those who pass the examinations of various courses and comprehensive examinations can start the topic.

Before opening the topic, doctoral students should write a written opening report and send it to each tutor of the doctoral training guidance group at least three days in advance. The opening report should include the following contents: (1) the theoretical and practical significance of the topic; (2) The research status of the topic at home and abroad (literature review); (3) Basic problems to be solved; (4) The research methods to be adopted in this paper; (5) The preliminary framework of the paper; (6) The writing plan of the thesis.

When opening the topic, the doctoral students will make a report first, and then the tutor of the doctoral training guidance group will evaluate the feasibility of the topic and the structure of the paper and put forward his own opinions. Those who do not meet the requirements should be improved within a time limit, otherwise they are not allowed to enter the next stage of the paper.

Second, the thesis writing and interim report

After the opening report is passed, the doctoral students will begin to write their doctoral thesis. Doctoral thesis must be completed independently by doctoral students under the guidance of tutors. Doctoral students generally spend no less than 1 year writing doctoral thesis. The number of words in doctoral dissertations shall not be less than 6.5438+200,000 words.

Attention should be paid when writing: (1) The doctoral thesis must have a proposition (that is, the original viewpoint to be demonstrated in the doctoral thesis). The whole doctoral thesis should focus on the argument of this original proposition. There can't be too many propositions, only one. Never write a doctoral thesis as a teaching material with comprehensive content and lack of argumentation. (2) We must seize the writing time, sooner rather than later. By the time of the interim report, the number of words in the paper should be more than half, not less than 60 thousand words.

The mid-term report of doctoral thesis writing is usually arranged before the end of the fourth semester (at the end of May and the beginning of June of that year, it is usually arranged on the second day after the defense of the last doctoral thesis). Every doctoral student must participate in the interim report, and doctoral students who do not participate in the interim report are not allowed to participate in the pre-defense and formal defense of doctoral dissertations.

When a doctoral student makes an interim report, he should write a written report and send it to every teacher in the doctoral training guidance group. The written report of the interim report should mainly include the following contents: (1) the progress of writing the paper; (2) The main problems encountered in the writing process; (3) the outline of the paper adjusted in the writing process.

Third, the first draft of the paper and the pre-defense.

The first draft of doctoral thesis should be completed before the end of the fifth semester (the end of 65438+February of that year) and submitted to the tutor for review. Doctoral students should revise their papers repeatedly according to the opinions of the tutor, complete the revised draft before the defense and submit it to the tutor before the defense.

Pre-defense is conducted one month before the paper is formally finalized (generally around March of the year of defense 1). Those who have not made a pre-defense may not enter a formal defense.

Pre-defense shall be conducted with reference to defense procedures. Doctoral students should mainly state the research significance, basic structure and main contents of the thesis, as well as the innovations and shortcomings, and answer various questions raised by the tutor before the defense.

Fourth, the final thesis and formal defense

After the pre-defense, doctoral students should revise and improve the thesis for the last time according to the problems found in the pre-defense and the opinions of the tutor.

After the final revision of the paper, it was formally finalized with the consent of the tutor. The official draft of the thesis must meet the requirements of the basic format of the graduate degree thesis of xx University. The time for finalizing the thesis is generally around April 1 of the year of defense.

After the paper is finalized, it will be signed by the tutor and sent to the printing factory designated by the school for typesetting and printing, so as to ensure that 20 printed dissertations and detailed abstracts 10 will be sent to the graduate office of law school before April of 15, so as to send the papers to experts from other schools for review in time. Dissertations and detailed abstracts of dissertations required by university degree offices, libraries and archives shall be delivered in six copies by the printing house.

The formal defense of doctoral thesis is generally arranged at the end of May of the year of defense.

The review and defense procedures for doctoral dissertations shall be handled in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Detailed Rules for the Granting of Master's and Doctoral Degrees in xx University.
