2. Site selection. The site for raising local chickens should be in barren hills or mountainous areas where there are highways and hydropower investment provinces, and there is no industry and pollution nearby. The flow of people is small, the crown of trees is small, the fruit trees are sparse, and the surface vegetation is rich. 60% of the terrain in the breeding area should be relatively flat. The terrain should be leeward and sunny, high and dry, and easy to get water. Chicken farms are prohibited along the river, and the distance between farms is not less than 200m m.
3. chicken house construction. You can build a simple henhouse. In places with poor conditions, a simple henhouse can be built with bamboo and cement sticks, with a eaves height of 2m, asbestos shingles on the top and plastic sheets around. An exit is opened at both ends of the shed, which is convenient for breeders and chickens to enter and exit, and also convenient for ventilation. The main supports of the shed are fixed in four directions with iron wires. Generally, the shed is about 5m wide, 10m long, 2m high in the middle and 1m high on both sides.
4. Feed selection. The quality of feed directly affects the quality of native chicken and its by-products. Considering the growth stage of native chickens, during the brooding period, chickens are mainly fed by the whole family, and after stocking, the ingredients are mainly self-provided. Among them, the self-made feed includes concentrate, green feed and fresh feed. Concentrate is mainly composed of corn and soybean meal, supplemented by wheat, rice bran or bran, and some compound premixes. Green feed includes various crop by-products and grasses, while fresh feed includes various insects.
