Eco-feminist thesis
Eco-feminism is the product of the combination of feminist movement and ecological movement. It came into being in the 1970s and was put forward by the French feminist F. Apponyi. It aims to liberate women and nature, criticize the domination and oppression of patriarchy around the theme of nature, women and development, and further promote the role of female culture and female principles in solving ecological problems. This paper makes a comparative analysis of Gone with the Wind and Sister Carrie from the perspective of eco-feminism. Although these two novels are written by different authors, they both show the female life under the oppression of male power. This paper first compares the different performances of the main female characters in the two novels under the oppression of male power, and divides them into two types according to their performances: female fighters and family angels. At the same time, compare the ultimate fate of the two types of women, and explain the reasons for women's oppression from the perspective of eco-feminism, and analyze the tragic fate of women. Finally, combining with the current social reality, this paper discusses the practical significance of the tragic fate of women and nature, criticizes the dualistic thinking mode, the concept of value hierarchy and the ruling logic of the patriarchal world view, thus calling on human beings to rebuild human society according to the principles of feminism and ecological integrity, and finally realize the harmonious coexistence of all things in nature.
