Since 1987, China Institute of Science and Technology Information has been engaged in the statistics and analysis of China's scientific papers, and independently developed the China Scientific Papers and Citations Database (CSTPCD). Using the data of this database, we make various classified statistics and analysis of China's scientific research output every year, and regularly publish the statistical analysis results to the society in the form of annual research reports and press conferences. Publicly publish the Annual Research Report on Statistics and Analysis of Scientific Papers in China and the Citation Report of Scientific Journals in China (Core Edition) to provide rich information and decision support for government management departments, universities, research institutions and researchers.

Journals included in China Scientific Papers and Citations Database are called "China Scientific Core Journals" and "China Scientific Papers Statistical Source Journals". The selection of China Science and Technology Core Journals has undergone strict peer review and quantitative evaluation, and it is an important science and technology journal in various disciplines in China, which can reflect the development level of this discipline. China science and technology core journals are selected and adjusted every year.
