In this respect, there should be a very broad research prospect. As we all know, our Chinese medicine has a fatal weakness, which limits its development. This weakness is that the composition is complex, especially after a series of processing and extraction, the composition is difficult to predict, and it is difficult to reach the level of western medicine research (accurate qualitative and quantitative). If we adopt the method of learning western medicine (finding one or more effective ingredients), it is difficult to give full play to the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine compound. Protein omics combined with molecular biology and traditional Chinese medicine can skip these complex composition changes to study traditional Chinese medicine. No matter how complex the components acting on organisms are, they are ultimately composed of protein (including enzymes and their related reactants and products) that affect organisms. Only in this way can we study Chinese medicine at the level of protein. It can also be directly compared with western medicines with similar curative effects to compare their advantages and disadvantages. Reverse thinking is used to find out the mechanism of drug action, especially for compound preparations with complex components and definite curative effect. If a breakthrough can be made, it will make great contributions to the internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine.

The specific research fields of protein's omics are briefly described as follows:
