Scholars throughout the ages have also written many famous cantaloupe couplets. For example:
The hall is filled with jadeite jade;
Bend/knife into a crescent sky.
This kind of joint writing in a watermelon shop makes watermelons lifelike, full of color, flavor and vividness, which makes people drool after reading them, leading to an endless stream of people buying watermelons.
According to legend, Zhang, a great scholar in Ming Dynasty, was very clever when he was a child. One day, an old monk in a local temple picked some watermelons to quench his thirst for the governor who visited here. The governor was moved by this scene and blurted out the first part:
Mr dongsi sent watermelons and some small gifts.
The old monk thought hard for a long time and was not worthy of the bottom line. It happened that Zhang passed by, and when he learned about the first one, he went to the second one without thinking:
The Antarctic fairy worships Beidou, which is very human.
When this sentence comes out, it is the wall. The antithesis was neat and natural, and everyone present appreciated it.
On one occasion, Jiang Dao, a writer in the Ming Dynasty, entertained guests with watermelons, and the guests went out for the first time:
The freezing rain sprinkled the window, two o'clock east and three o'clock west.
This is a hyphen. As the name implies, hyphenation is to combine parts of certain words. The "east dichotomy" in this couplet is the word "frozen" in "Frozen Rain Window". Isn't the word "frozen" in the east dichotomy just a binary addition? The west three points are the word "sprinkle" for "sprinkle the window".
Jiang Dao, who is cutting watermelons, immediately joined the characters with hyphens:
Split the passengers, seven horizontal and eight straight.
The "horizontal seven knives" in the bottom couplet are the combination of the word "cut" and the "straight eight knives" are the combination of the word "divide". The last two sentences of this couplet are the explanations of the first two words of the couplet, and they are closely related, without the traces of word separation and deliberate carving, and look natural.
Tang Bohu, a famous scholar in Ming Dynasty, known as "the first romantic talent in Jiangnan", was resourceful since childhood. Once my father entertained guests with fried beans and watermelons. He first grabbed a handful of fried beans and put them in his pocket, then picked a big watermelon to eat. Father wanted to criticize him, and the guest helped him out, saying, "If I can write couplets, you can eat this watermelon and stir-fry beans!" " Tang was afraid of tigers and readily promised. So, the guest turned on a fried bean way:
Stir-fried beans, twist them, and throw a pair of scarabs.
Tang Bohu will be here soon:
Cut the melon and divide it into two jade glasses.
Jade glass is a metaphor for the cutting of watermelon. Tang Bohu used "jade glass" to describe "golden tortoise shell", the color and shape are very appropriate. After listening to this, the guests greatly appreciated it.
According to legend, when Ji Xiaolan, a university student in Qing Dynasty, ate watermelon with his colleagues, their colleagues went out and made a couplet:
Sit facing north and eat watermelon, with watermelon skin facing east.
Language is like a scene in the street, which looks handy. It ingeniously embeds the four directional words "East, West, North and South" into couplets, showing no meditation or ingenuity, and shines brilliantly in popularity.
Looking at Ji Xiaolan freely to the bottom allied:
Look at Zuo Zhuan from top to bottom and turn right.
The antithesis gives people room for imagination. You can imagine a scholar holding an ancient book printed with thread-bound woodcut and turning it to the right at the same time. The second couplet has the words "up, down, left and right", which is elegant to read. Comparatively speaking, this couplet can be described as vulgar and elegant, giving people a pleasing aesthetic feeling. It vividly reproduces Ji Xiaolan's bold, uninhibited and free-and-easy taste of watermelon, which can be described as superb and wonderful.
However, ancient folk also have such similar couplets:
It is said that the north and south eat watermelon, and the skin faces east;
Think about the past and read the left biography, and turn the book to the right.
The upper half includes four directions: southeast and northwest, and the lower half is opposite to the front, back, left and right.
During his stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Yu Youren, who now lives in Chongqing, invited Wu Nanxuan, then president of Fudan University, to the North Hot Springs for discussion. It was hot and thirsty, so Wu bought watermelon to quench his thirst. Yu Youren, who was quick-witted, was moved by this scene and said with a smile: "It is right to form an alliance." Lian Yue:
Visit the northern hot springs and eat watermelons. Wu Nanxuan is the host.
This couplet scene is smooth and natural, embedded in the "southeast and northwest" side, which is difficult to match at the moment. After the incident, Yu and Guo Dagong returned to Chongqing and got on the bus to go to Shangqing Temple. Suddenly, they heard the conductor say, "Passengers going to Shangqing Temple please get off!" Guo Moruo said happily that there is now a bottom allied:
To Shangqing Temple, please get off and turn left at Yu Youren.
Yu Youren lives in Shangqing Temple. When you get off and go home, you must turn left. From "up, down, left and right" to "east, west, north and south", it can be described as a perfect combination, wonderful to nature, and Yu Youren was deeply impressed.
