Objective: To explore the principle of extraction and separation of traditional Chinese medicine, and provide samples for the preparation of total triterpenoids from Radix Peucedani and further pharmacological experiments.

Methods: The total triterpenes of Plantago asiatica were further separated and concentrated by ethanol extraction combined with solvent extraction.

Results: The total triterpenes of Plantago asiatica were extracted, separated and concentrated, and the content was determined.

Conclusion: The content of total triterpenes in ethanol extract of Plantago asiatica is high. Key words: plantain; Total triterpenoids; Ethanol reflux method; Extract, lineage
