In the Northern Song Dynasty, Shao Shengyuan (1094) appointed Zhang Tian as prime minister, and Wang Anshi's new law was implemented again. Su Shi, who opposed the new law, was demoted to Huizhou on the charge of "ridiculing the first time". In the same year10.2, he went south as the deputy minister of Ningyuan Army. Originally, he thought Huizhou in eastern Guangdong was a wild place, but at the beginning of getting off the bus, he saw the beautiful scenery, thus eliminating the political frustration.

During his three years in Huizhou, Su Dongpo saw that Huizhou defenders had no fixed barracks and lived in the city, disturbing the people. He suggested building 300 barracks. He is very keen on the construction of the West Lake. In order to build "Su Causeway" and "Liu Ruting", he even donated his own rhinoceros ribbon, and also donated money and gold from Ouchi to help Taoist Deng Shouan build the East New Bridge and help monks build the West New Bridge and levee.

What is even more rare is that he personally interacts with construction workers, checks the construction progress and supervises the construction cost. So on the day when the West Bridge was completed, he celebrated with the elders of the whole city and enjoyed a three-day feast. He often travels around Hufeng Lake on a moonlit night, climbs Hejiang Tower, enters Xiaoyao Hall, crosses Fengle Bridge, and travels all over the landscape of West Lake, which is very enjoyable. He lingered at the foot of Sizhou Tower in the Tang Dynasty, enjoying the shadow of the pagoda and Pinghu Lake.

Su Dongpo left Huizhou with another sad thing, that is, his beloved concubine Wang Chaoyun died here. Chaoyun is from Qiantang, Zhejiang. She is both clever and insightful. She was Su Dongpo's singer when she was an official in Hangzhou. She couldn't read, but later she became proficient in literature and ink and studied books. When Su Dongpo was demoted, concubines left one after another, and only she accompanied Dongpo for twenty-three years until her death, when she was only thirty-four years old. After her death, Su Dongpo and the monks in the downstairs temple buried her in the pine forest next to the temple.

Legend has it that after Chao Yun's death, Su Dongpo still dreamed that Chao Yun went home to nurse his youngest son every night. Every time she comes home, she always gets wet and asks her why. Chaoyun said it was caused by wading across the lake. After Su Dongpo woke up, he built a new dam between Pinghu and Hu Feng, so Chaoyun didn't have to wade home at night, which became the origin of Su Causeway. ?

Su Dongpo came to the West Lake for three years and had extensive contacts with people from all walks of life. Because of his popularity, many buildings in West Lake have names to commemorate him, such as Sugong Bridge (Xixinqiao), Su Chi Temple, Dongpo Pavilion, Dongpo Temple, Su Causeway and even Dongpo Pork, Dongpo Braised Pork and Dongpo Restaurant.

Extended data

During his stay in Huizhou, Su Shi wrote countless masterpieces handed down from generation to generation. These works not only record the household customs, but also record the landscape and human world of Huizhou.

His poems are grounded, secular and life-oriented, such as Eating Litchi, Five Poems of Jiang Yue and You Song Feng Ting. In the days when my concubine died young, Su Shi was heartbroken. In addition to Epitaph of Chaoyun and Huizhou Praising Chaoyun, Su Shi also wrote many poems, words and articles to mourn this confidante, such as Plum Blossom in Xijiang Moon, Slow Flowers in Rain, Tiqi Temple and so on.

"Eat litchi" original:

It is the fourth spring in Luofu Mountain, and the oranges and plums in Lu bloom at the latest.

300 lychees a day, it is better to grow into Lingnan people.

Translation:

The next four seasons in Luofu Mountain are spring, and loquat and Huangmei are fresh every day. If I eat 300 lychees every day, I would like to be a Lingnan person forever.

Poetry appreciation

Among them, the phrase "300 lychees a day, I will grow up to be a Lingnan person" is the most well known. Most poets think that Mr. Dongpo came to praise the scenery of Lingnan, thus expressing his nostalgia for Lingnan. In fact, this is a sweet hymn full of bitterness sung by Mr. Dongpo.

Su Dongpo once wanted to escape from the world because of his bumpy career, and finally failed to retire from the mountains because he was obsessed with the national luck and people's livelihood. When Mr. Dongpo was in Lingnan, he was in a dilemma between being born and joining the WTO. "300 lychees a day, I will grow up to be a Lingnan person" is an image description of this dilemma.

The original "Xijiang Moon Plum Blossom":

Jade bone's melancholy fog has its own fairy wind. When the sea fairy sent out to explore the fragrant bush. Hang the green hair upside down.

Plain face turns pink, and red lips do not fade when washing makeup. The high spirits disappeared without a trace. Don't dream with pear flowers.

Translation:

Jade Qing, Bingqing's character is natural. Where will you pay attention to those fogs? It has its own immortal demeanor. Sea gods send people to visit fragrant flowers from time to time, and the phoenix decorated with green feathers hangs upside down.

Its plain face is painted with lead powder and it is afraid of getting dirty. Even if the makeup is washed away by rain and snow, it will not fade the red color like red lips. Noble sentiment follows the sky of Xiaoyun, and you wouldn't expect to have the same dream as pear flower.

Poetry appreciation

This poem was written by Su Shi for mourning, and it was also a secret mourning for Zhao Yun, the concubine who resolutely retired to Huizhou in Lingnan. The plum blossom in Huizhou described in the ci is actually the embodiment of Chaoyun's beautiful face and noble character.

The first part of the word describes the charm and charm of Huizhou plum blossom. In the first two sentences, it is suddenly said that the plum blossom in Huizhou grows in the town of boils, but it is not afraid of miasma, because it has an ice-like body and a fairy-like wind.

The next two sentences say that its beautiful posture has aroused the envy of Hai Xian, who often sends messengers to visit among the flowers; The messenger turned out to be a green-haired bird (shaped like a phoenix) hanging upside down from a tree. The above sentences vividly outline the charm of plum blossom in Lingnan.

The shape of plum blossom is traced by the pool. "Plain noodles are often too pink", and the natural white appearance of Lingnan plums disdains to decorate with lead powder; The application of lead powder masks its natural beauty. Plum blossoms in Lingnan are surrounded by red leaves. Even if the plum blossoms fade (wash makeup), the plum leaves are still red (do not fade their lips), which can be called gorgeous and colorful. In the face of this beautiful Dongpo, it is another hug: "High feelings have driven the clouds, not dreams with pear flowers."

Dongpo lamented that the noble sentiment of loving beauty became empty with Xiaoyun. He no longer dreamed of plum blossoms, unlike Wang Changling who dreamed of pear blossoms. In the sentence, "pear flower" means "pear flower cloud", and the word "cloud" comes from the previous "Xiaoyun". Xiao is synonymous with Chaoyun, and the word "Xiaoyun" in this sentence can be regarded as synonymous with Chaoyun, revealing the main idea of this word.

This eulogy was written by Yongmei to express his grief. It is about plum blossom, which is a specialty of Huizhou, but it naturally melts into the clouds.

I admire Huizhou plum blossom's fearlessness to fog, but in essence I miss Chaoyun's deep affection for myself. Xia Gan's first two sentences, combined with Su Shi's "Gift to Chaoyun", are obviously written about Chaoyun. Combining the last two sentences, the intention of mourning Chaoyun is more clear.
