I am very happy to attend the Second World Peace Forum. Thanks to Tsinghua University and the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs for their efforts in hosting this grand event. The Chinese nation has always been a peace-loving nation, and China has always pursued a foreign policy of peace. Facing the era of peace and development, it is not only the ardent expectation of the international community for China, but also the international responsibility of contemporary China to send out the voice of peace from China, Peking and this forum to the world, convey the concept of peace and sow the seeds of peace. In his speech this morning, Vice President Li Yuanchao comprehensively expounded China's principled position around the two major propositions of peace and security, emphasized that China has always been a staunch force for maintaining peace, and called for the establishment of a new security concept of mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality and cooperation, which played an important guiding role in the forum. I wish the forum a complete success.
The world today is undergoing unprecedented changes. With the accelerated development of economic globalization and social informatization, countries are becoming a more harmonious community of destiny, and at the same time they are facing more complex global challenges. How to maintain peace and promote development is an urgent problem facing the international community.
